Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Demo Arrives Tomorrow

Xbox Live and PSN subscribers, get ready to take flight.

There's a flood of great games coming out over the next few weeks, and one title you should definitely consider to be near the top of your list is Namco Bandai's Ace Combat: Assault Horizon.  This new entry in the series will introduce a higher range of intensity than ever before, especially when it comes to dogfights and the new helicopter missions.  But don't just take our word for it -- you'll be able to go hands-on for yourself when the demo goes live tomorrow.

In a press announcement this morning, Namco Bandai confirmed that the demo for Ace Combat: Assault Horizon would be available tomorrow in the U.S. and Wednesday in Europe on both Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.  The demo will introduce you to the stunning new air combat that this game brings, including some sick looking dogfight sequences that you've never thought possible for a game of this type.  This isn't your old-school Ace Combat, that's for sure.

In addition to air combat, the game will also introduce helicopter missions for the first time, with players taking control of these craft and dishing out some major damage as they take on enemies and leave them in a flaming pile of debris.  Namco has released an extensive ten-minute video showcasing the kind of damage you can do, which you can view below.

The two missions features in the demo are described by Namco Bandai and its developer, Project Aces: In the jet fighter mission, players will step into the shoes of the game's hero Bishop for the first time and engage in an intense dogfight over sun-kissed Miami. The sequence serves as the game's tutorial level and introduces Bishop's deadly adversary Markov.

The second part of the demo is the helicopter mission.  Players will take on the role of helicopter pilot D-Ray as he lays waste to enemies in spectacular style in support of a high risk rescue operation by the elite Delta Force special forces unit. The missions will give players a small taste of the visceral combat, deadly airborne devastation and rich variety of missions and aircraft in the final game.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon invades your air space on October 11th for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.  For now, check out this footage and prepare to be blown away.
