The Riddler joins a cast of villains out to stop the Dark Knight once and for all
With Warner Bros. Pictures readying The Dark Knight Rises with freshly minted Oscar winner Christian Bale for a July 20, 2012 release, Batman fans can jump into one of the big games of 2011 on October 18. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment will ship Rocksteady Studios much-anticipated sequel this year for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The latest villain the Caped Crusader will be battling is The Riddler. The developer talks about Batman: Arkham City in this exclusive interview from GDC 2011.
The Riddler joins a super villain cast that includes The Joker, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, Two-Face, Talia Al Ghul and Hugo Strange. That’s a much larger cast of characters than Batman had to contend with in the first game. Batman: Arkham City is the follow-up to the award-winning hit video game Batman: Arkham Asylum and delivers an authentic and gritty Batman experience.
Batman: Arkham City builds upon the intense, atmospheric foundation of Batman: Arkham Asylum, sending players soaring into Arkham City – five times larger than the game world in Batman: Arkham Asylum – and the new maximum security “home” for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds. Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City, this highly anticipated sequel introduces a brand-new story that draws together a new, all-star cast of classic characters and murderous villains from the Batman universe, as well as a vast range of new and enhanced gameplay features to deliver the ultimate experience as the Dark Knight.
Batman: Arkham City is based on DC Comics’ core Batman license and is not tied into the new Christopher Nolan film trilogy.
