Ubisoft used a panel in San Diego during Comic-Con 2011 to unveil its latest digital strategy for its bestselling Assassin’s Creed franchise. Assassin’s Creed Embers, a new computer-generated animated short movie, will ship when Assassin’s Creed Revelations hits store shelves on November 15. The developer talks about how real locations were used for the game franchise in this exclusive video interview from Rome.
Assassin’s Creed Embers expands on the final chapter of the life of master assassin Ezio Auditore and a journey that has spanned more than four decades. The animated short, developed by UbiWorkshop, will be available with the Assassin’s Creed Revelations Signature Edition at GameStop for pre-order, and for download on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and on PlayStation Network.
Initially launched in 2007, the first three Assassin’s Creed games have sold more than 30 million units worldwide, and the franchise is now established as one of the best-selling series on next-generation consoles. Recognized for having some of the richest, most engrossing storytelling in the industry, Assassin’s Creed has transcended video games, branching out into other entertainment experiences including comic books, Facebook games, novels, short films and more.
