Big Games of 2012: Exclusive Footage of The Last Guardian Will Be on ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection

Finally... the footage we've been waiting for
A lot of hype has been built around The Last Guardian due to Team Ico's previous successes in ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. After its reveal in 2009, it seemed that the developer was on the path of making another memorable game, featuring a young boy struggling to survive while befriending a griffin. However, beyond the game's delay until 2012, we haven't heard or seen much of the game since, leaving people to wonder if the game would be completed at all. That notion can be put to rest, as it was announced earlier today that the ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection will feature new footage of the upcoming PS3 title.
The announcement came via a post on the Playstation Blog, stating that ICO & Shadow of the Colossus will feature lots of additional videos, featuring concept videos for ICO, a brief video on the abandoned NICO that eventually became Shadow of the Colossus, and a round-table discussion between Fumito Ueda, Kenji Kaido, and Junichi Hosono.
But what takes the cake is a 12-minute behind-the-scenes video at the SCEI offices in Japan talking to key production members about the 3 games, including The Last Guardian. That will also include footage of The Last Guardian that has never been seen before.
The ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection was delayed along with the release of The Last Guardian, as the game was intended to be released not too far from The Last Guardian. With the news that the collection was finally dated, it seemed logical that indeed the third title was on the way. It is surprising that the next time we would get to see any new footage of the game would come in the form of bonus video on a collection of their previous work.
That doesn't rule out the idea that we won't be seeing a new trailer or possibly a demo at TGS 11. That is scheduled to take place from September 15 to 18, placing it less than 2 weeks before the release of the collection on September 27. It would be best to come out with some sort of new trailer, and have that followed by the footage on the ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection.
Either way, we finally get another glimpse of The Last Guardian after waiting for so long. Are you excited enough to buy the collection to check out the new footage?
