Check out What Far Cry 3 Has to Offer in the New Gameplay Trailer

Ubisoft gives us an explosive look into its latest installment
Last year at E3, Ubisoft surprised us with a vacation gone awry in a little game called Far Cry 3. The trailer depicts an island being ruled over by a psychopathic regime, and your only means of escape are by taking the fight back to them and let the guns do the talking. Now a new gameplay trailer has emerged, displaying how big a fight it is to escape the island and how explosive some of the moments can be.

The action this time around looks much more improved, favoring larger skirmishes taking place in much more interesting locales. One of my biggest gripes in Far Cry 2 is that, with the exception of a few areas, most of the combat took place in much more open spaces. Far Cry 3 looks to add some variety in that by adding cave exploration and even shooting it out on large ships.

The graphics certainly have shown a large improvement over its predecessor, featuring improved lighting and textures. Oh, and the facial models are also quite expressive too. It also helps that Far Cry 3 takes place on a tropical island, taking an escape from the repetitive brown color palette offered in Far Cry 2's Sahara sun.

Lastly, one interesting thing to note is that there will be a progressive leveling system. As to what that will unlock remains to be seen, but I'd venture a guess and say that it will likely affect what weapons you are able to use.

Far Cry 3 is certainly looking much more appealing with the new trailer. Whether or not the action gets a bit too repetitive like it did in Far Cry 2 is something that remains to be answered, but at the least the action looks to be a bit more over-the-top this time around.
