Jay Mohr Blasts Tiger Woods at DICE 2010

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- A day before Tiger Woods made his first public apology for his infidelity, comedian Jay Mohr blasted the PGA TOUR golfer in front of a packed ballroom at the Red Rock Casino during the 13th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards. Mohr was hosting the annual videogame awards show, which is now broadcast on the Independent Film Channel, for the fifth year in a row. He said that Tiger was an idiot (although his language was much saltier) for running around with a bunch of sixes when he had a ten at home and two kids.

Woods wasn’t the only one to get lambasted by Mohr. The comedian and avid gamer, who now stars in the hit CBS show “Gary Unmarried,” was very harsh on Activision and Nintendo. But he was also very funny. He said that now that Nintendo has sold a Wii to every person in the world, they’ve decided to lower the price. Many of the jokes Mohr used during his extended opening monologue can’t be printed here, but he had the crowd of game developers and executives laughing throughout the show.

The fact that Mohr actually plays games definitely helps when he’s making jokes about titles like Modern Warfare 2, Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit. Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 2 ended up taking home ten awards that night – it was nominated for twelve. But the show was entertaining thanks to Mohr’s constant quips. He interacted with the audience throughout the night, asking for applause from Japanese game developers and then black attendees. He then asked what was wrong with the game industry when there were more blacks than Japanese at the event.

Before knocking them dead inside the crowded ballroom, Mohr walked the red carpet and talked about his own videogame background and why 3D is not such a big deal in this exclusive interview.
