Hollywood Composer Michael Bross Scores Insomniac Games’ Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One

The first game from Insomniac’s North Carolina studio will feature over four hours of original music from the composer
Insomniac Games has enlisted Hollywood composer Michael Bross to craft the soundtrack to one of Sony’s big PlayStation 3 games of 2011-- Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One. Over four hours of original music will be featured in the stereoscopic 3D sequel, which introduces cooperative gameplay to the franchise. Bross, who has worked on films like The Black Dahlia and Ripper, was hired to bring a fresh perspective to the series while respecting the direction the franchise has taken with past titles.

Developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One will for the first time allow players to experience the Ratchet and Clank universe with up to three friends at once, teaming up as Ratchet, Clank, Qwark and Dr. Nefarious. The series’ signature humor and cinematic style will be intact as players join forces to escape from and investigate a mysterious machine called the Creature Collector.

“The deeper we get into the development of Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, the more evident it becomes that Michael was the perfect choice as the composer for our project,” said Jamie McMenamy, audio lead at Insomniac Games. “His music is epic and innovative, providing the cutting edge sound and cinematic quality we desired for the game. We are truly excited to have him on board.”

As a huge fan of the Ratchet and Clank series, Bross has been eager to create a unique soundtrack that lives up to fans’ expectations. “I'm incredibly excited to be working with the Insomniac team on such a fantastic franchise,” said Bross. “It's truly an honor to work on the project.”
