The Many Faces of Captain Price

A look at how his look has evolved over time
With the announcement of Modern Warfare 3, there are a couple of things you can expect in the next game. You can expect a Michael Bay-esque campaign and some addictive multiplayer action. Another thing you certainly can expect is the return of Captain Price. Price has made an appearance in several titles of the Call of Duty franchise, much like Cid has found his way on almost every Final Fantasy title in various forms. Throughout his tenure in the franchise, Captain Price's look has evolved a bit over time, so let's take a look at just how his look has changed.

We first laid eyes on Captain Price in Call of Duty. There, he served as part of the British 6th Airborne Division as well as the SAS. Though gamers got to fight alongside him and eventually rescue him from capture, he was killed towards the end of the game. In chronological order, Price first appears in Call of Duty 2 as a member of the 7th Armoured Division.

In these 2 games, Captain Price wears his iconic mustache along with a beret. Another interesting thing to note is that his vocal tone is a bit on the lighter side. Everything started to change once he made his appearance in the Modern Warfare series.

As you can see, Price traded in his beret for a boonie hat and decided to grow a beard along with his mustache, though the mustache is grown in thicker to stand out. He also has a bit more of a grizzled look to him due to him appearing more aged than he did in the first Call of Duty titles. His voice also has changed to a much deeper tone. That's due to the original voice actor being Michael Gough in the first two games, switching to Billy Murray in the Modern Warfare series.

Now that we have a good idea of what Captain Price has looked like over the years, we can at least expect the mustache to return in Modern Warfare 3, along with his boonie hat. I imagine him looking a bit more whethered this time around. He fought in two games so far and has managed to escape from prison in Modern Warfare 2. Plus, he survived quite the fight from Commander Shephard at the end of the game. It's hard to say for sure what he will look like, but there is no doubt that when we do see him, we will all excitedly say "That's Captain Price!"
