Although Call of Duty fans may have their eyes set on Modern Warfare 3, there still is some fun to be had in Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game has already seen the release of two map packs since it's release in November of last year, but a third map pack very well may be on the way. A photograph leaked out onto the internet, showing off 5 possible maps for an upcoming DLC map pack.
The photo is of a display in a GameStop, teasing 5 maps for an upcoming DLC map pack. Those 5 maps are Silo, Drive-in, Hangar 18, Hazard, and another Zombies map. To the left of the maps, you can clearly see the Black Ops cover art.
Though GameStop may get early release dates that end up being off, I think this rumor is much more legit. Considering it has the Black Ops cover art just as any other Black Ops display does, it would be hard to think someone would make a display like that and have it be nothing but a hoax.
Plus, I think Activision will continue to make map packs like these to give Call of Duty: Elite a whole lot more value. If they can produce at least 3 map packs per Call of Duty title, then the subscription service could really have some decent value to it.
Whether or not this is the last map pack for the game has yet to be known. Depending on when exactly it gets released, Activision may have enough time to sneak in one more map pack just before Modern Warfare 3 drops. That would probably be unlikely as they give gamers a break on their wallet so they can invest in a new game, but they could also leave it on hold while people start subscribing to the premium Call of Duty: Elite and then release it after.
If this does end up being the next DLC map pack for Black Ops, are you buying it or saving up for Modern Warfare 3?
