The Xbox 360 is take huge precedence at the Call of Duty XP event in Los Angeles this week, as Microsoft is co-sponsoring the event and the million dollar Modern Warfare 3 tournament. But that’s not all – Microsoft and Activision are also teaming up to produce yet another limited edition game console, just as they did with Modern Warfare 2 a couple of years ago. The difference? This one’s way better.
The Modern Warfare 3 bundle is set to his stores on November 8, the same day that the game releases in stores. While a specific price point wasn’t mentioned, it should retail for the same price as the Gears of War 3 bundle that’s releasing later this month -- $399.99.
The package will come with a custom designed Xbox 360 system, with a “dingy”, battle-tested design and custom sounds when you turn it on and open the disc drive, taken straight from the game. It will also include a copy of Modern Warfare 3 (obviously), all the necessary hook-ups, and two wireless controllers, which also support the “dirty” look taken from the game.
But that’s not all. Major Nelson also revealed a new headset that will be sold alongside the bundle, available for purchase on the same day. This is the Call of Duty Bluetooth Wireless Headset, which hooks right up to your ear during play and can go back into a charging unit when it isn’t in use. You can also use it for normal Bluetooth purposes as well. Again, no price point, but $99.99 is an estimated guess.
No doubt Activision is gearing up for battle when it comes to their Modern Warfare 3 push, and these little pieces of ammunition, working with Microsoft, should help fuel the fire. Now the only question is…do we get this one, or Gears of War? Hmmm…
