Attendees at the upcoming Comic-Con International 2010 will have an opportunity to experience two of the summer’s most anticipated video game releases. For the first time since 2006, Nintendo of America will be a featured exhibitor at the annual Comic-Con expo, scheduled to take place July 22-25 at the San Diego Convention Center.

Bethesda Softworks announced that “All Roads”, the hardcover graphic novel which tells the story of some of the characters and events that lead up to Fallout: New Vegas, will feature cover art created by legendary illustrator and comic book artist Geof Darrow with colors by Peter Doherty. The graphic novel also features art by Jean Diaz (Incorruptible) and Wellinton Alves (Marvel’s Shadowland: Blood on the Streets, Nova). The full cover illustration will be revealed at Comic Con 2010 in San Diego.

LOS ANGELES -- A hidden gem inside Electronic Arts’ massive E3 booth last week was the downloadable game, DeathSpank. EA and independent developer Hothead Games will release DeathSpank on July 13 for PlayStation Network and July 14 for Xbox LIVE Arcade.

At E3 2010, Disney Interactive Studios and Propaganda Games showed off a new Pirates of the Caribbean game. Now, production has commenced on location in Hawaii, the United Kingdom and Los Angeles on Walt Disney Pictures’ and Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ sweeping comedy adventure Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago), the fourth entry in the blockbuster franchise which has already reaped $2.7 billion in worldwide box office from the previous three films, and the first to be filmed and presented in Disney Digital 3D.

Square Enix, Inc. will showcase KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep at E3 2010 in Los Angeles June 15-17. The new PSP exclusive will ship to North American retailers on September 7, 2010. KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep brings to life unexplored worlds from everyone’s favorite Disney stories. It’s the latest game in a global franchise that has already topped 14 million units in sales.

NEW YORK CITY -- Sega is unleashing its own take on espionage with Obsidian Entertainment’s new role-playing game (RPG), Alpha Protocol. Players will step into the shoes of Mike Thorton, a CIA agent on the run, and enter the covert world of terrorism and counter terrorism as he tries to track down some missing missiles. The story unfolds from there as you use various tactics from stealth combat to weapons like assault rifles to embark on a branching story line filled with twists and turns. Matt Hickman, the assistant producer on the game at Sega, talks about this new spy story in this exclusive interview.

One of the big games of 2010 has new content coming in April. Leading video game developer BioWare, a division of Electronic Arts, revealed an all-new playable character to the Mass Effect 2 universe, a master thief named Kasumi. Coming this April in North America and Europe, the Kasumi – Stolen Memory PDLC pack will introduce Kasumi Goto, the galaxy’s most enigmatic and cunning master thief. In addition to being able to recruit Kasumi in all new missions, players will be able to utilize her special skills as a member of Commander Shepard’s squad throughout the entire game. The Kasumi – Stolen Memory PDLC pack will be available for Xbox 360 at a cost of 560 Microsoft points, and on PC for 560 BioWare points or $7.

Fans in North America have made the latest FINAL FANTASY game another hit and one of the big games of 2010. Square Enix announced that FINAL FANTASY XIII has recorded the largest first-week sales in franchise history. Launched on March 9, 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, FINAL FANTASY XIII has sold more than one million units in North America over the first five days. Sony has benefited with over 60% of these sales coming on its PS3 console. Square Enix also announced that FINAL FANTASY XIV is coming to a global audience later this year, serving up a double dose of adventure for North American audiences. Square Enix is partnering with DC Comics imprint Wildstorm to create a custom comic series that will explore the rich and mysterious backstory of the upcoming Action-RPG NIER.  NIER, whose unique content, characters and hidden, twisting storyline has transfixed gamers and media alike for months, will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on April 2th.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Electronic Arts has signed an agreement with 38 Studios to publish the company’s first videogame, an epic single-player role-playing game codenamed Project Mercury. 38 Studios is the creative enterprise of World Series MVP and avid gamer Curt Schilling. Project Mercury is being developed at Big Huge Games, a wholly-owned subsidiary of 38 Studios, under the leadership of Ken Rolston, former lead designer of the critically acclaimed hits, Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The game marks the first entry into the company’s vast universe created by New York Times best-selling fantasy author R. A. Salvatore, with artistic direction by Todd McFarlane, renowned artist and creator of Spawn.
