The Georgia Game Developers Association (GGDA) announced that Nolan Bushnell, founder of the video game industry, will deliver the keynote address at the fourth annual Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game Expo (SIEGE). Scheduled for Oct. 1 – 3, 2010, at the Crowne Plaza NW Atlanta hotel, SIEGE focuses on the fast-growing game design industry in the South. NEW YORK CITY – Verizon Wireless has launched a major redesign of the Verizon Games service portal and desktop application in conjunction with games-on-demand partner Exent. The new app delivers a more intuitive and interactive experience for customers exploring the world's largest PC games-on-demand subscription service, with more than 1,500 game choices. Drawing on insights and feedback from its network of users and on-demand game service providers, Exent designed an animated and easy-to-use game-navigation service.  Unlike other game services, the new Verizon Games app, built with GameTanium, creates a more engaging, game-like environment designed to appeal to a mass market audience.

The villain from the hit documentary, "King of Kong: A Fistful of Dollars," has finally reclaimed his videogame throne from good guy Steve Weibke. Billy Mitchell, who came across as an egotistical loser in the documentary film, has made his mark on videogame history after revealing two new, official world records last Saturday night, August 7th, at the International Video Game Hall of Fame celebrations in Ottumwa, Iowa.

The “Pac” is back as NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., celebrates PAC-MAN's 30th birthday with the announcement of PAC-MAN Party exclusively for Wii. PAC-MAN Party combines traditional franchise elements with multiplayer sensibilities to bring a dynamic party game filled with zany mini-games and challenges. Utilizing the Wii Remote, the game's easy to pick-up-and-play controls will have players using their skills and reflexes to compete against one another as they move about several unique virtual game boards. PAC-MAN Party is scheduled to be released throughout North America this fall.

SAN FRANCISCO, At GDC 2010, the PC Gaming Alliance (PCGA) unveiled its 2009 Horizons Report, an exclusive research study encompassing all aspects of the PC gaming industry worldwide. Among the key findings is that PC gaming software revenue was a $13.1 billion industry in 2009, up 3% from 2008.
