Lionsgate Home Entertainment’s latest action film, GAMER, takes a look at the dark side of videogame culture. The movie stars Gerard Butler, Michael C. Hall, Amber Valletta, and Kyra Sedgwick. Within this future world, videogames allow players to control actual human beings. Games like Slayers offer first-person shooting action with death row inmates as the warriors and the bait. Society turns The Sims into a real-life hook-up experience with actual people being controlled by gamers at home. Valletta, who has appeared in blockbusters like What Lies Beneath and Hitch, stars alongside Butler in this action film from the creators of the Crank franchise. LAS VEGAS – Sony used the main stage at its booth at the Consumer Electronics Show to showcase its latest Blu-ray Disc technology. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will debut movieIQ Sync, the company’s first portable BD-Live feature, on the Blu-ray release of MICHAEL JACKSON’S THIS IS IT, in stores January 26, 2010.
