 COLOGNE – Ubisoft demonstrated Michael Jackson: The Experience at GamesCom 2010 both on the show floor and in the business lounge. The interactive performance-based videogame, inspired by the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson, will include dancing and singing. The game will be available for Kinect for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 with PlayStation Move support, PSP, Nintendo’s Wii system and Nintendo DS handheld system this Christmas. LOS ANGELES, California -- During its E3press conference, Ubisoft announced the development of an interactive performance-based videogame inspired by the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson. The game is will provide an interactive experience that enables players to step into the shoes of Michael Jackson himself and re-live his most iconic performances through their own singing and dancing. The upcoming game will include the most famous tracks from Michael Jackson’s extensive catalogue such as “Beat It” and “Billie Jean,” as well as an array of his awe-inspiring dance moves for players to learn and emulate within the game. Additionally, fans will be able to sing along and test their vocal skills while immersed in the performance.

Activision Blizzard, Inc. announced that DJ Hero was the #1 new intellectual property by revenue in the U.S. and Europe for calendar 2009, according to The NPD Group.  According to Michael Pachter, videogame analyst for Wedbush Securities, DJ Hero sold 790,000 copies in the U.S. and a total of approximately 1.5 million copies worldwide. Activision is already working on a sequel.

Although overall videogame sales have been down seven of the last eight months compared to the record-breaking 2008, games are still the driving force in entertainment, as well as electronics and toys today. The $550 million, five-day haul that Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 raked in – the largest entertainment launch in history -- shows the power of interactive entertainment even amidst the tough economic climate.
