The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), which assigns the official age and content ratings for computer and video games, announced a new public service announcement (PSA) campaign starring San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey and pitcher Ryan Vogelsong at AT&T Park. The PSAs, which feature the players explaining the ESRB rating system and encouraging parents to use it when buying games for their families, will soon begin running on television and radio stations throughout northern California as well as at Giants home games this season.

With E3 around the corner, Electronic Arts unveiled five new innovations that will bring big changes to EA SPORTS FIFA Soccer 13, along with the largest and deepest feature set in the history of the franchise.

Taking full advantage of Kinect for Xbox 360, Steel Battalion Heavy Armor is a first-person perspective action game that will put players in the cockpit of futuristic Vertical Tanks (VTs) starting June 19. Set in 2082, the game depicts a world devoid of semiconductors, where war is waged with rudimentary weapons as new superpowers struggle for dominance. In a twist of fate, the U.S. army has been forced to begin major landing operations on what was once its own soil. Playing as pilot Lt. Powers, players control one a VT as he embarks on a mission that will see the action shift from North America to battlefields and war-torn streets across the globe. The multiplayer mode of the game made its debut at Captivate 2012.  Capcom’s Antoine Molant was on hand to discuss this sequel in this exclusive interview.

Marvel’s The Avengers crossed the $1 billion threshold at the global box office on Mother’s Day May 13, its 19th day in release, The Walt Disney Studios movie has become the first official summer blockbuster. This is the first Marvel Studios film and the fifth Walt Disney Studios release to reach this important milestone. Director Joss Whedon talks about the movie in the exclusive video interview below.

First introduced at a Microsoft event in Tokyo a couple of years back, Crimson Dragon has been hidden in secrecy for some time, with Yukio Futatsuki, the creator of Sega’s Panzer Dragoon series, and his team toiling away on its spiritual successor for Xbox Live Arcade.  But recently, Microsoft provided us a hands-on opportunity with the upcoming release, giving us the ability to fly around with a dragon using body motions.  And you know what?  It’s not half bad.

Capcom connected with gamers back on the original Xbox with Steel Battalion, a game best known for its massive controller filled with buttons and levers to control the in-game Mechs. LAS VEGAS – Celebrity gamer Adrianne Curry is working with Namco Bandai on the upcoming Tekken Tag Tournament 2 console release for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Curry, who is one of the judges for Sony’s “The Tester” online series, was on hand for Namco Bandai’s Global Gamers Day event at The Cosmopolitan Hotel. NEW YORK CITY – EA Sports kicked off the countdown to the latest installment of Madden live in Times Square before the 2012 NFL Draft by allowing fans to choose the cover athlete of the game on ESPN’s “Sports Nation.” Calvin Johnson edged Cam Newton in the battle, but gamers will be glad to see EA is expanding its Madden franchise to new systems. Madden NFL 13 will debut on Sony’s PlayStation Vita come August 28th. And the game will implement Kinect technology for the first time.

Now game publisher and developer Namco Bandai Games America is bringing Dragon Ball Z for Kinect to the Xbox 360 this October.  All of the classic action and intensity of the Dragon Ball Z universe will be felt with an unprecedented sense of immersion when players learn to deliver over 100 moves, including the legendary Kamehameha with their own fists as they charge their way to victory in this ultimate evolution of the classic franchise.

CARY, North Carolina – Red Storm Entertainment has a team of 120 finishing up the multiplayer experience for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The newest Ghost Recon game introduces GunSmith, a feature that allows players to customize every detail of the game’s weapons into millions of variations. Gamers can also tweak their gear, grenades and even the look of their avatars. Developer Tony Sturtzel demonstrates how Kinect gamers can do all of this with their voices and motions in this exclusive video interview below.

When you create a game for a motion-sensitive device, you have to keep things not only interesting, but fresh.  Stick with the same ideal too long and mundane feelings set in, leaving the player wondering why they’re still playing an hour into the game.  Some games have avoided these pratfalls, including Child of Eden and, most recently, Star Wars Kinect.  However, Diabolical Pitch, sadly, doesn’t avoid this rut.

Capcom believes there’s a core audience of gamers who are willing to take the Kinect plunge. The Japanese publisher has enlisted developer From Software to create this sequel to the hit Xbox game, Steel Battalion. Working closely with Microsoft to take full advantage of Kinect, Steel Battalion Heavy Armor is an Xbox 360 exclusive first-person action game that promises to deliver a uniquely immersive experience and an evolution in warfare gaming.
