After its success with TRON: Revolution and TRON: Uprising, Walt Disney Studios is exploring a brand new video game world. Wreck-It Ralph, hitting theatres November 2, tells the story of an arcade game bad guy who embarks on a quest to prove he’s really a good guy. The 3D computer-generated movie sends audiences on a journey through wildly diverse arcade-game worlds, including the ‘80s-era, 8-bit video-game world of Fix-It Felix, Jr., the ultra-modern first-person shooter game Hero’s Duty and the candy-coated cart-racing game Sugar Rush. Helping to differentiate these worlds from one another are unique cinematography, animation, effects and music.

Electronic Arts gave attendees at the Apple iPhone  press conference at the Yerba Buena Center the first live demo ofReal Racing 3, its forthcoming title for iOS. Real Racing 3, which is developed by the EA Firemonkeys studio, will bring the ultimate racing experience to iPhone 5 later this year, taking full advantage of its brilliant 4" Retina display and enhanced graphics capabilities and processing power, making it one of the sharpest, most exciting ways to experience the premier racing game. SAN FRANCISCO -- Apple today introduced the next generation of its iPhone family with the iPhone 5. The Apple iPhone 5 will sport a taller 4-inch 326 ppi (pixels per inch) Retina Display screen with a 1136 x 640 resolution. The screen also features better color saturation with full sRGB rendering. The phone weighs in at 112 grams, which is 20% lighter than the iPhone 4S and is 7.6mm thick, which is 18% thinner. The biggest news on the iPhone 5 announcement though is the addition of 4G LTE with a maximum throughput of 100Mbps, which will be available at Sprint, AT&T and Verizon.

Zynga has launched four partner games on Zynga.com and has added nine new partners on the Zynga Platform. For the first time ever, games from third party developers will be available on Zynga’s own destination for play, including: Sava Transmedia’s Rubber Tacos, RocketPlay’s Sports Casino, Majesco Entertainment Company's Mini Putt Park and 50 Cubes’ Fashion Designer. Zynga now has 24 partners across web and mobile that will bring games to the 306 million monthly active users on the Zynga network. New Zynga partners announced today, include: Antic Entertainment, Big Bite Games, CrayonPixel, Eruptive Games, JamRT, The Method, Playnery, RocketPlay and TikGames.

With the Republican and Democratic National Conventions kicking this year's election season into high gear, the video game industry is bolstering public engagement and awareness around the upcoming presidential election. Game designers, developers and publishers are teaming up with voter-turnout organizations, and encouraging Americans to exercise their voting rights.

Industry newcomer Spectre Media has released a new video game based on Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions' Starship Troopers: Invasion. Executive produced by Casper Van Dien (Johnny Rico from Starship Troopers, Starship Troopers: Marauder) and Ed Neumeier (writer Starship Troopers and Starship Troopers: Marauder); produced by Joseph Chou of Sola Digital; and directed by Shinji Aramaki (Halo Legends), the game delves further into the new CGI reboot.
