Disney’s World of Cars Online, featuring the voices of Cheech Marin and Jenifer Lewis, revs into a very successful Disney Online. According to recently released data from comScore Media Metrix, Disney Online, the No. 1 ranked community-family and parenting destination on the Web, reached a record-breaking 36 million unique visitors in July, beating the previous all-time record of 34 million uniques set in June 2009 by two million unique visitors.

Disney Interactive Studios is developing Disney Tangled: The Video Game, a story-based adventure game inspired by the world and characters featured in the upcoming 3D animated Disney film Tangled, an action-packed comedy adventure for audiences of all ages. Featuring Rapunzel, a feisty teen with incredibly long magical hair, and Flynn Ryder, a charming rogue, the video game combines humor with an engaging adventure as players embark on a journey to fulfill one of Rapunzel’s lifelong dreams to see the lights she’s admired from her Tower window. Disney Tangled: TheVideo Game will be released for the Wii system and Nintendo DS family of hand-held systems, as well as Windows/PC this fall.

Disney Interactive Studios was on hand with both console versions of the new TRON: Evolution videogames inside Disney Pictures Comic Con 2010 recreation of Flynn’s Arcade, just down the street from the San Diego Convention Center. It was part of the ComiTRON celebration, which marked the end of three years of promotion for the upcoming 3D movie. Disney Interactive Studios today announced that the highly-anticipated Disney Epic Mickey video game will be featured at the upcoming Comic Con International show in San Diego. Disney Epic Mickey will be presented in a panel discussion taking place on Saturday, July 24th at 4:30 p.m. at the San Diego Convention Center, Room 9.

Disney has renamed Comic Con 2010, ComiTRON. In addition to an hour-long panel featuring new footage from the 3D Tron Legacy movie, Disney Interactive Studios will be showing new Tron Evolution games and new mobile games both in its booth and off-site at a recreation of Flynn’s arcade.

After Jerry Bruckheimer’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time raking in over $320 million globally, the producer is back for his second summer blockbuster. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is a modern-day re-imagining of the classic Fantasia short starring Jay Baruchel as Mickey Mouse, essentially. Nicolas Cage plays the sorcerer and Baruchel is his apprentice. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse raked in $161 million in its first five days in the U.S., earning the seventh-best five-day opening in history behind the Twilight Saga: New Moon’s $164.7 million haul. Eclipse took in almost as much over the holiday weekend as it did in its opening day. The film earned an additional $100 million overseas, bringing its early total to $261 million.

LOS ANGELES – After a very long 11 year wait, Toy Story fans continued to flock to theaters over the second weekend to give the third installment of the Pixar Animation Studios original franchise a blockbuster number one outing. After pulling in a record $110 opening weekend in the United States alone, the movie earned another $59 million this weekend. Its domestic total is now over $226.5 million and its foreign take adds another $100 million to the Disney coffers. That’s great news for Disney Interactive Studios, which has Toy Story 3 games for all platforms in stores and had a large presence for the new games at E3 2010.

At E3 2010, Disney Interactive Studios and Propaganda Games showed off a new Pirates of the Caribbean game. Now, production has commenced on location in Hawaii, the United Kingdom and Los Angeles on Walt Disney Pictures’ and Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ sweeping comedy adventure Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago), the fourth entry in the blockbuster franchise which has already reaped $2.7 billion in worldwide box office from the previous three films, and the first to be filmed and presented in Disney Digital 3D.
