Yesterday, we took a look at Microsoft and what they will have in store for us at this year's E3. From what it looks like, this year will focus on software for the XBox 360, as well as possible details on a new console. It's a bit of a different story for Sony. Sony is giving another try at handheld gaming with the NGP, a console that they claim brings the experience of the PS3 on the go. They have already shown off the console this year, but at E3 Sony will most likely release all of the specs of the system, as well as set a date for release and pricing of the system. Will the NGP be able to hold a candle to the 3DS?

Shadows of the Damned, releasing this summer, is the tale of Garcia Hotspur entering Hell to rescue his wife. It has a very punk feel, a sort of constant when it comes to Grasshopper Manufacture games. Check out the developer diary below, wherein Suda51 and Shinji Mikami talk about the game, all while hamming it up as best they can.

Shadows of the Damned, a title director Suda51 would like us all to say with an echo, is an upcoming action horror title with a AAA development team. The afforementioned Suda51 is in charge of most of the story and visual elements, a worthy task for the mind that brought us No More Heroes and Killer7. Meanwhile, Shinji Mikami, of Resident Evil 4, is in charge of the gameplay. The cherry on this sundae is Silent Hill's Akira Yamaoka on music. It's a match made in Heaven, (Or Hell, given the game they're working on.), but if that alone isn't enough to pique your interest in Shadows of the Damned, check out the screenshots below.

The Droid X launch by Motorola (MOT) and Verizon (VZ) this week marks the beginning of better graphics and therefore better games on the Android mobile OS platform. While the Android Market has made giant strides in parity with the iPhone on application quality and quantity, Android still falls far behind when it comes to games. That changes with the Droid X and its 1GHz TI OMAP processor which includes a discreet graphics processing unit (GPU) optimized for OpenGL graphics. Open GL is a graphics standard that game developers can program to for making games look better and more realistic. The iPhone introduced OpenGL acceleration in its last iPhone 3GS launched this time last year.
