When I first played Gravity Rush last year at E3, I saw how it stood out in the PlayStation Vita line-up at the time, with its exquisite art style and its innovative gameplay style. But then I thought…”What if they ‘gimmick’ this and make it more about the features of the game than the game itself?” And doubt began to sank in. But, as I usually get these days with game developers, Sony Japan Studio pulled a 180 on me and actually made Gravity Rush one of the more entertaining Vita efforts to date. Gotta love surprises.

The last time that the DC Comics characters made a respectable appearance in a fighting game, it was in the crossover title Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, which wasn't half bad but ended up being somewhat mixed reviews due to its Teen-rated nature. However, since Mortal Kombat has gone on to bloody success returning to its roots, why can't DC Comics get its own fighting love? It's doing just that, as Ed Boon and his team at Netherrealm Studios have announced Injustice: Gods Among Us, a new fighting game with plenty of comic book love.

Marcus Fenix's saga in the Gears of War franchise may have come to a close, but that doesn't mean the series can't continue on with a new lead. And it looks like it will be, according to a recent cover reveal by Game Informer Magazine. The publisher unveiled its new cover this morning, revealing silhouettes surrounding familiar Gears of War motif. The game is already confirmed to be officially unveiled this Monday during the Microsoft press conference, but the real question is...what should we expect?

For the longest time, Dead Space 3 has been heavily rumored, following the awesomeness that was Dead Space 2 last year. And why not? Fighting vicious aliens while scrambling to stay alive through tense situations...it just makes for a good time in video games. Well, before EA could possibly announce the game at its press conference for E3, it looks like a site called All Games Beta has stumbled upon some key screenshots from the project, as well as a logo and teaser image that confirms, yup, Isaac Clarke is in for another bad day. (But hey, at least he's not alone, right?)

When it comes to games made specifically for the PlayStation Move, Sony could’ve done better. Some of the lamer party and dancing efforts are easily forgettable; Kung Fu Rider stunk worse than a slice of Gouda cheese left in an unplugged fridge for a week; and Medieval Moves was too jittery for its own good. But now, two years after its initial announcement, we have a game that actually makes the PlayStation Move look likable, even though using it actually reveals a pretty big weakness.

At one point, folks were worried what would become of Insomniac Games’ Ratchet and Clank series, considering that the team was moving on to multi-platform development with its upcoming Electronic Arts project Overstrike, announced at last year’s E3. Well, don’t fret. Along with the forthcoming Ratchet and Clank HD Collection, which is being developed by Idol Games and overseen by Insomniac, the team is actually returning for an all new effort – one that long-time fans will appreciate.

Earlier this month, we reported on the story that 2K Sports was looking to launch its latest basketball sim, NBA 2K13, sometime in early October, and would have the game ready to hit the floor of E3 next week. Today, 2K Sports confirmed the story, stating that its championship series would indeed be heading back to stores to once again dominate the paint.

It looks like the strenuous wait for Doom 4 will continue on, as neither Bethesda nor id Software have any new information about the sequel -- and it won't likely be present at E3. However, it looks like we'll have the next best thing, as the companies did announce this morning that it is bringing back an Xbox/PC favorite for the current generation of gaming. Hope you've got your boomstick handy.

A lot of folks I know were pretty disappointed with Resistance 3, despite Insomniac Games’ efforts to take the series in a new direction following the death of its main hero, Nathan Hale. Me? Well, it irked me in places, but I could see what the developers were trying to do, and I had a fair amount of fun with it – even though I still turned to Killzone 3 by default afterward. Now, people are once again getting divided up over the release of Burning Skies, the first portable entry for Resistance on the Vita. (In this case, game critics.) But, honestly, is it really that bad? Nope, in fact, it’s pretty good.

If there’s one company that knows how to show appreciation for its classics, it’s Sega. Over the years, they’ve re-released a number of their Genesis and arcade hits as digital downloads, and includes them in such compilations as Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection as well. So it should be no surprise that it continues to beef up its Sega Vintage Collection, this time with a trio of games that, while not exactly fitting together in a theme, provide entertainment for old-school gamers and newcomers everywhere.

When Microsoft released Kinect Joy Ride a year and a half ago for its Xbox 360, it left audiences torn. While casual players and kids got a kick out of holding onto an imaginary steering wheel and performing tricks, others just didn’t get the “feel” of the game, and left it behind in favor of the more hardcore racing terrain of Forza MotorSport 3. With that, the company, in association with the development team at BigPark, opted to remake the game the way it was originally intended, as a downloadable release for Xbox Live Arcade. So, now that Joy Ride Turbo has returned to its roots, is it a better run around the block? Actually, yes.

A little while back, we posted a first look at THQ's upcoming wrestling opus WWE 13, by way of a leaked trailer that featured WWE champion CM Punk talking about a revolution. But little did he know what kind of revolution it would bring from the game community. Last night, the hype surrounding the game reached a fever pitch when the official cover for the game was revealed. At first, General Manager John Laurenitis joked that he would be featured on the cover...but then CM Punk came down and officially unveiled how the final game would look. Thank goodness.

Halo 4 is without doubt one of the biggest games of the year and is expected to sell well during the holiday season. As we approach fall, many retailers are starting to update their store catalogues to show store specific pre-order bonuses.

Diablo III has already sold through millions of units, meaning that both PC and Mac owners have no trouble getting into the game and slaying monsters for hours at a time. With that, you’re occasionally going to need to talk to fellow players just to make sure you’re on the same page with your strategies. While some of you may feel comfortable using a $15 headset to get the job done, SteelSeries has a pricey – yet very cool – piece of gear that’ll make you feel more like a bad-ass.

Now that Diablo III is officially raiding millions of homes, PC users are probably wearing down their equipment like crazy clicking on their characters and moving things around. With that, you might want to consider a high-performance piece of tech to get you through these battles, rather than a cheapy $15 mouse that breaks after just a few hours of play. SteelSeries may have just what you need with its Diablo III mouse, which was introduced on the same day as the game.

Normally we don't cover the movie industry here, but when we do it's always game related. Recently DreamWorks Entertainment successfully won the Licensing rights and have found themselves behind the wheel distribute the big- screen version of Electronic Arts’ street racing series, Need For Speed. No word yet on the actors who are going to featured in the upcoming film, but we are starting to get a better idea how the movie will shape up.

We are only a week away from E3, but we are starting to get a better idea on what going be showcased at E3 with more and more leaks surfacing as the event draws closer. On Friday, Twitch TV sent out their booth schedule revealing EA's newest addition to the Need for Speed Franchise, Most Wanted 2.

The Simpsons is a license that’s seen its fair share of good games and bad in this industry. On the bright side, we’ve gotten a few unforgettable gems, like The Simpsons Arcade Game, the enjoyable Simpsons Hit & Run, and the somewhat tolerable Bart vs. the Space Mutants, a game that made up for its control issues with genuine tone from the show. But for every tolerable product that came out, we also got a mess that was hard to comprehend, let alone play, thanks to a bad concept or a generally bad game design. Talk about having a cow, man...

Fans of Doctor Who are a rabid bunch, aren’t they? And who can blame them? For years, the cult TV series has lived on in one form or another, currently setting up for another season in what appears to be the Wild West. Now BBC Multimedia has ventured forward with a downloadable game for PlayStation Network, one that eschews the kind of ambience that fans of the series may greatly appreciate. Sadly, however, the gameplay just never lives up to its potential.

THQ doesn’t appear to have much presence at this year’s E3 event, as there won’t likely be a Darksiders II car wash to go with last year’s Saints Row event. No matter, the company will still be there, showing off the upcoming sequel featuring Death, along with the recently announced Company of Heroes II. But now it looks like it’ll have an additional game in tow, the latest in its ongoing World Wrestling Entertainment wrestling sims, as a trailer appeared online hours ago – before being taken down – that announced the arrival of WWE 13 on November 1.

This is probably one of the toughest Top Five articles I’ve had to put together, mainly because the Star Wars legacy has been all over the place when it comes to video games. On the one hand, some of the greatest games we’ve played in quite a while stemmed from the Star Wars universe. On the other, we’ve gotten games like…Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi. And…oh boy. But make no mistake, George Lucas’ legacy has lived on quite well in games, and we’ve managed to struggle enough to put together a list of the elite five. Now let’s see how many of you Jedi masters agree with us.

It’s been a good five years since we stepped onto the battlefield with a full-fledged Ghost Recon game, cruising through the skies with Advanced Warfighter 2. Since that time, Ubisoft’s been putting the finishing touches on its latest chapter, Future Soldier, only to run into delays and forcing its release date to move a few months. Well, the time for delays is over, as the finished product has finally worked its way to store shelves. Now the question is, has this long wait been worth it?

Since its release over the past few months on both mobile platforms and consoles, The Pinball Arcade has become a popular release with both pinball fans and newcomers alike, as the development team at Farsight Studios has managed to perfectly recreate some of the more popular tables out there for digital play, including Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! and most recently, Funhouse and Bride of Pin-bot, which are coming to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network next month.

Delays. They happen quite often. Just when you think a product is going to come out at the proper time, something happens and forces the studio behind it to push it back a few weeks – maybe even months. We’re not even to the midway point of 2012 and we’ve already seen significant delays…and no, we’re not talking G.I. Joe: Retaliation. That movie needed retooling anyway.
