Rapper LL Cool J has been playing a law enforcement official in the hit CBS TV series “NCIS: Los Angeles” long enough to know what to do when he’s in trouble. This morning at 2 a.m. a burglar tripped the alarm in his LA mansion. Instead of waiting for the cops, LL decided to take on the intruder. The buff actor took down the burglar, who was booked by the police and suffered bruises from his encounter. The rapper takes his hit song, “Mama Said Knock You Out” quite literally. PlayStation fans know Sony Liverpool for its WipEout franchise, which dates back to its Psygnosis origins. Sony has closed the studio, which most recently released WipEout for PS Vita (which can be seen in the video below). The studio was reportedly developing two PlayStation 4 games. One PS4 title was a new WipEout, the other was an action game that utilized the same type of performance capture technology as Rockstar Games’ LA Noire.

WWE 13 introduces a new campaign mode called the Attitude Era, which replaces the Road to WrestleMania mode. Gamers can step into the role of eight of the top WWE superstars during that period in the ‘90s, including Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. The mode lets players live through history, complemented by exclusive videos edited by the WWE. Austin, who’s on the cover of the special edition version of the game, CM Punk, who graces the cover of WWE 13, and Mike Tyson, who has a history in WWE and plenty of attitude, gathered at SummerSlam to talk about the new THQ game. The 2012 Game Developers Conference Europe (GDC Europe) concluded on Wednesday, August 15 with a successful showing and a final attendee count of more than 2100 game professionals.  Professionals from all areas of the game industry gathered throughout the three day conference to learn and network. The keynote roster included industry leaders from Ubisoft Montreal’s Creative Director Alex Hutchinson, to CEO of Wargaming.net Victor Kislyi, to Epic Games senior engine programmer Niklas Smedberg.

The Vita adaptation for the popular side-scrolling bundle of joy is now available in the format of a beta up for ravenous LBP fans like us to examine and report our findings. It's probably fairly obvious by now that there's excellent, slick, and gorgeous levels as well as the tools creative types crave to build their own courses, but we gave the beta a spin to confirm what we had already suspected: we're going to want the full game in-hand come September 25th.

OnLive has broken its silence amidst a flurry of layoffs and closure rumors. As of August 17th, all of its assets were acquired by a newly formed company that will continue to operate under the OnLive name. The OnLive Game and Desktop Services, all OnLive Devices and Apps, as well as all OnLive partnerships, are expected to continue without interruption and all customer purchases will remain intact; users are not expected to notice any change whatsoever. While Gaikai was purchased by Sony, Steve Pearlman reportedly turned away multiple suitors over the years until this action was required.
