EA Sports has partnered with its first beer company to promote Madden NFL 11. Coors Light gamers of legal drinking age will be able to put their Madden videogame skills to good use and win prizes like a trip to the Madden Bowl in Dallas, Texas on February 3, 2011 and getting their face scanned into Madden NFL 12.

EA Sports and "The World's Most Refreshing Beer" is giving legal-drinking-age consumers the opportunity to showcase their videogame talents in bars and restaurants across the country this fall. In addition to the national promotion, each market will plan a series of promotions in local accounts that will enable consumers to challenge each other on the spot at Madden NFL 11. And in select markets, people will have the chance to compete in tournaments for the right to play Madden NFL 11 against a local NFL alumnus.

The national promotion also features a sweepstakes runs through December 31. One grand prize winner could have his likeness featured in an upcoming Madden NFL game. Additional prizes include tickets to Madden Bowl XVII party in Dallas on February 3, 2011, during Super Bowl week, as well as copies of Madden NFL 11 and discounts on select EA SPORTS merchandise.

"Coors Light consumers are passionate about football in all forms, whether they're cheering on their favorite team on Sunday or facing off against friends in Madden NFL 11," said Rick Gomez, vice president of marketing for the Coors Family of Brands. "As cool as it is to whip your buddies in Madden NFL 11, imagine how much better it would be to do it in front of a bar full of people, or next year with 'video you' there to help your team march to victory."

"EA SPORTS continues to bring Madden to the people in new and creative ways," aaid Christopher Erb, senior director of partnership marketing for EA SPORTS. "This promotion with Coors Light gives fans not only a way to play Madden NFL, but to become part of it."

The accolades just keep coming for Toy Story 3, which bodes well for Disney Interactive Studios’ Toy Story 3 catalog of videogames. The Disney•Pixar feature film has earned over $1 billion (and counting) at the worldwide box office, joining Alice in Wonderland as the second $1 billion film this year from The Walt Disney Studios. Disney’s the first studio in history to accomplish this feat – and the fact that both films are in 3D certainly played a role in the success story. Disney first crossed the $1 billion threshold with Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest in 2006 – the fourth film in that franchise is currently filming in 3D. Toy Story 3 becomes the only animated film to reach this milestone and the seventh title in industry history.

“It’s been an incredible year as we saw the Pixar team bring Buzz and Woody back to the big screen and watched Tim Burton’s vision for Alice in Wonderland take the world by storm,” said Rich Ross, Chairman, The Walt Disney Studios. “These box office triumphs prove that creative storytelling brought to life by imaginative, inspired and talented professionals is something audiences respond to the world over.”

Toy Story 3 tallied more than $621 million internationally, Disney’s largest international animated release. Latin American audiences have contributed $138 million making Toy Story 3 the highest grossing Disney film ever released in the region. Toy Story 3 is the most successful UK release in Disney history and currently stands as the fourth biggest title in territory history with $102.4 million in box office receipts so far. In Japan, the film has taken in $111.2 million and spent five consecutive weeks as the #1 movie. Toy Story 3 currently ranks as the #7 film in global box office history and domestically ranks #9 with $408 million in receipts to date.

Alice in Wonderland began setting records during its opening weekend (March 5-7), becoming the biggest March opening in industry history, the highest 3D opening ever and The Walt Disney Studios’ biggest opening for a non-sequel film. Internationally, the film went on to tally more than $690 million, becoming Disney’s biggest overseas release of all time and the fourth biggest title ever released overseas. Worldwide, the film took in $1.0243 billion, ranking it as the #5 film in global box office history.

Nintendo Wii Games: Summer 2010 winners take home prizes

Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson crowned the winner of the first Nintendo Wii Games: Summer 2010 nationwide competition. Players from across the country competed on Nintendo Wii at tour stops and the winners were flown to Redondo Beach, California to compete for top prizes like a family cruise.

Approximately 200 finalists from around the country - joined by family, friends and spectators of all ages - gathered to get up and get playing with motion-controlled video games for the Wii system. Tournament play included games such as Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit Plus, New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Mario Kart Wii.

To mark the start of the National Championship event on Sept. 3, Olympic gold medalist and Wii Games: Summer 2010 Ambassador Shawn Johnson led finalists in a special warm-up session with the Hula Hoop activity from Wii Fit Plus. During a special award ceremony on Sept. 5, winning teams received prizes, including customized trophies fashioned after the iconic Wii Remote controller, Nintendo entertainment packages and a family cruise for the first-place team.

Wii Games: Summer 2010 marked Nintendo's first-ever nationwide Wii tournament, created as a celebration of the active, inclusive spirit of Wii. In total, this year's Wii Games: Summer 2010 events brought together nearly 9,000 competitors in 24 markets across the country.
