While Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and Spider-Man are great games in their own right (and proof that Beenox has a heck of a track record), there’s this inescapable thought that the games feel “closed in”, without giving Spidey too much room to roam around.  It’s a change of pace from what we were able to do with him in Treyarch’s movie-licensed Spider-Man games.  Again, they’re not bad at all, but some of you have been clamoring for a return to the “go anywhere, do anything” style.  Well, later this month you’ll be getting just that with The Amazing Spider-Man.  And Activision recently invited us down to go hands-on with him.

For the past couple of years, 2K Sports has been dominating the paint with its NBA 2K franchise, as 2K12 managed to sell well over five million copies, thanks to the help of a talented development team and, of course, a virtual Michael Jordan.  But the pressure is on this year, as EA Sports is bringing back NBA Live in a big way.  2K, however, isn’t breaking a sweat.  Live didn’t even make it to E3 this year, and the team had its own plans with NBA 2K13, which it showed to us behind closed doors.

For the longest time, we’ve waited for the ideal South Park gaming experience…and never really got it.  Sure, some games came close to getting the style of the series down (like the recent Tenorman’s Revenge), but didn’t really live up to the potential of gameplay.  And don’t even get us started on those crappy Acclaim games – even the creators of the series, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, couldn’t stand them.  But with The Stick of Truth, Obsidian Entertainment’s latest project for THQ, we could very well be seeing a turnaround.  Even if it just plain wrong in spots.  But that just means the team is doing it right.

Earlier today, Ubisoft announced that one of the premier video games franchises in the industry will soon be making it’s way to the PlayStation Vita. Assassin’s Creed III Liberation will be released on October 30 exclusively on the PlayStation Vita.

So what do you get when you add Dubstep to one of the most recognized car simulators on the market? Well apparently, that's Forza Horizon resulting in making the Forza series a year round property. This addition to the franchise is taking the franchise into a bold new direction.

Last week, Twitch TV posted their booth schedule and during EA’s press conference confirmed Criterion newest game, Need For Speed: Most Wanted 2. Very few details were given, but Criterion is finally giving us the Need Of Speed that we have long been asking.

One of the biggest first day E3 surprises was Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Black List.  It has been two years since we last time saw the stealth hero legend, but much has changed since then and the hero has appeared to adapt a more modern stealth.

For the longest time, we’d like to think that the Ultimate Fighting Championship league, or the UFC, have had a great relationship, even when things got a little rough with the publisher and EA Sports producing the competitive EA Sports MMA, which caused White to have some harsh words for the company.  But today, he took part in a new powerhouse relationship that will take the UFC games to the next level.

Nintendo is definitely looking to grab some attention this week at the Electronic Entertainment Expo with its Wii U, and it got a head start earlier today with its Nintendo Direct online presentation.  In 30 minutes time, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata managed to talk about some of the system’s technical features, and while he didn’t really confirm too many games, some are bound to be of interest to fans of the company.

Let the Electronic Entertainment Expo festivities officially begin!  Tomorrow marks the run of press conferences, where companies will make their breaking announcements and reveal long-awaited projects.  But Nintendo appears to be getting the jump on the competition.  Ahead of its own press conference on Tuesday, Nintendo will be hosting a special pre-E3 Direct online special today at 6 PM EDT, with global president Satoru Iwata set to discuss something regarding the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.  The question, is...what?

The last time we saw the Prince of Persia series, it was in the form of an awesome Prince of Persia HD Trilogy for PlayStation 3, one that faithfully recreated the PS2 hits with the addition of Trophies and 3D support.  Before that, Ubisoft tried its hand at a more traditional adventure, The Forgotten Sands, to go along with the Prince of Persia movie that Disney was banking so heavily on back in 2010.  (Probably shouldn't have used Gyllenhaal in the main role...)  Since then, though, the Prince hasn't been that busy...but that could all change around next week, as Ubisoft is supposedly working on a reboot for the series.  Yes, the first one since the 2008 release.

Ubisoft is set to have a huge showing in the next few days at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, and if the rumor mill is madly churning for any company, it's them.  Rumors about Beyond Good and Evil 2 footage, a Prince of Persia revival (sans Jake Gyllenhaal) and the Rayman Legends Wii U project have already been making the rounds.  But today, a sweet new one has emerged -- Assassins Creed 3 isn't the only "killer" game releasing this year.

When Microsoft and Epic Games released Gears of War 3 last year, it brought one of the most thrilling third-person action game series to a thunderous close, with plenty of surprises and no shortage of action.  But seeing as how the game was a rousing success, you just can't keep a good series down.  This past week, Game Informer did a cover reveal for its July issue that indicated a new game in the series was coming...and now we know what it is.  If you wish to be spoiled before Microsoft's big reveal Monday, read on.
