LOS ANGELES -- The second annual 3D Gaming Summit: Gaming and Beyond expanded its scope to include fast-growing segments of the games industry like cloud gaming, mobile gaming social gaming, and the impact augmented reality will have on games moving forward. Lewis, Chairman/CEO & Co-Founder, RealD; Mick Hocking, VP, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios; Roy Taylor, EVP/GM, MasterImage 3D and, at Thursday's 3D Gaming Summit, Vince Zampella (Call of Duty), General Manager, Respawn Entertainment and David Maisel, former Chairman, Marvel Studios and currently Strategic Advisor to Rovio Mobile (creator of Angry Birds).

Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation SKG will be the first recipient of the 3D Visionary Award. The presentation will be made at the 4th Annual 3D Entertainment Summit in association with Variety, scheduled for September 20-22 at the Hollywood & Highland Center, Hollywood, CA. Mr. Katzenberg, a keynote speaker at several previous summits, will address the conference via taped remarks on Wednesday, September 21st at 11:30am PT. 3D and visual effects veteran Phil “Captain 3D” McNally, who has collaborated with Katzenberg on such films as Puss in Boots, Shrek Forever After, Kung Fu Panda 2, and How to Train Your Dragon, among others, will accept the award in person on Katzenberg’s behalf.

Unicomm and The Bob Dowling Group have announced speakers and sessions for the second annual 3D Gaming Summit: 3D Gaming and Beyond presented in association with Variety. Scheduled for Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the Hollywood & Highland Center, Hollywood, CA, the new summit will take place the same week as the 3D Entertainment Summit and LA Mobile Entertainment Summit. The gaming summit is expanding beyond 3D this year to look at some of the hottest sectors of games, including cloud gaming, mobile game and augmented reality.  Producers have also confirmed Mick Hocking, Vice President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, as a featured speaker. Hocking oversees all 3D game development for Sony.
