When it comes to iPad, videogames are already flooding the iTunes store. In addition to the 25,000 iPhone and iPod Touch games that are compatible with Apple’s new device, there are already over 800 iPad-specific games that take advantage of the new hardware. Australian game developer Firemint is taking advantage of iPad in a new way by introducing 3D support to its bestselling Flight Control HD game.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced today to a packed audience that multitasking is finally coming to the iPhone as part of the new iPhone OS 4.0 which will ship this summer. Jobs said that Apple has finally figured out how to implement third party multitasking without hurting performance or battery life, which he demoed on stage at the press conference. To activate the multitasking, users just need to double click on the iPhone home button and a list of your apps will pop up on screen. Users can then just tap the app they want to switch to.

Sony Computer Entertainment America and Sony Electronics Inc. have signed on as Premier Sponsors for the 3D Gaming Summit, it was announced today by co-producers The Bob Dowling Group and Unicomm, LLC.  Sony’s involvement will include a major speaking presence, 3D equipment, demonstrations, display, and an array of entertainment and gaming in the event’s 3D Gaming Lounge.  The inaugural two day event, to be held April 21-22, 2010 at the Hilton Los Angeles, Universal City, CA, is presented in association with Variety.

International research firm Parks Associates finds consumer interest in Web-on-TV applications is so strong that households are making their own connections via PCs and game consoles.
