When it comes to 3D gaming, Sony is making a big push to be the leader in delivering a quality 3D experience to PS3 owners all over the world. At E3 this year, they announced a brand-new, 24" 3D TV to hit the stores and give people a 3D display at an affordable price of $499.99. I got a chance to see this display in action and can surely say that this new TV is quite the bargain, and still a really nice display even at a cheap price.

With Microsoft kicking off E3 in disappointing fashion, it was up to Sony to try to get things back on a happier track with a press conference that would feature better games and other content. Sony had a lot on its plate at E3. They suffered a network outage that lasted over a month due to it being hacked, leaving many PS3 owners upset. Plus, they had a new piece of hardware to show off. Things started to go their way as the Playstation Network was back in full force before E3. Did Sony capitalize on its momentum and blow us away with a great press conference?

For about the last month and a half, Sony has been all over the news and in many blogs posts due to the PSN outage. It was a troubling time for the company, but they managed to overcome the obstacle in the end and get things back to the way that they should be. Now, Sony will be featured in the news with the announcement of the PS Vita at their E3 press conference. Along with the new hardware, Sony also detailed plans for a new 3D TV lineup set to come out this fall.

(Reuters) With 3D movies boosting both audience experiences and box office coffers, videogame publishers are following Hollywood's lead and developing 3D games to immerse players more into virtual worlds. Game makers like Sony Computer Entertainment, Nintendo, Electronic Arts, Capcom, Take-Two Interactive, and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will unveil stereoscopic 3D video games at the E3 Expo in Los Angeles next week where over 45,000 game industry professionals check out the big titles of the next year.

While Microsoft has been mum and has let Sony steal the spotlight when it comes to stereoscopic 3D gaming, a press release out of Korea states that Microsoft has entered into a partnership with 3D TV maker LG to market LG 55/47LX9500 LED 3D TVs alongside stereo Xbox 360 games in South Korea with the option of further expanding this marketing initiative throughout the Asia Pacific region. The program will launch this June and bundle Xbox 360 3D games with LG 3D TVs.

Just in time to watch the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa in 3D, Sony Electronics will ship its first Bravia 3D TVs and Blu-ray 3D players to Europe this June. The company announced a package of products, services and free content, comprising four compelling reasons for consumers to make their first 3D TV experience a Sony one. Sony has yet to announce details for its North American 3D plans, but similar free 3D games and movie offerings are expected.

The 3D sci-fi epic remained the number one movie in the world over the weekend, grossing $48.5 million in North America and $143 million overseas. Avatar is the first movie to remain atop the box office four consecutive weeks since The Dark Knight.
