Roxio, a division of Sonic Solutions, released the results of a web survey that indicate significant consumer interest in not only watching 3D entertainment in the home, but also capturing and enjoying personal photos and home movies in 3D. Of the 2,000 consumers polled, 84 percent indicate they are interested in viewing Hollywood 3D movies in the home, while almost 80 percent believe they will be taking 3D video or capturing 3D photos of family events within the next five years.

There's been a lot of hype surrounding the launch of 3D TV, but is the new technology worth buying right away? Consumer Reports tested several new sets in its labs—the first hands-on evaluation outside the manufacturers' facilities—and found that the sets live up to their advance billing, but the average consumer shouldn't rush out to buy one.

The company announced a partnership with Philips to provide consumers with co-branded iterations of its award-winning, patented pi-cell active 3D glasses with Philips’ 3D television sets.

Consumer electronics shopping site Retrevo recently polled consumers through its Pulse report about the impact of James Cameron’s Avatar 3D phenomenon.

LAS VEGAS – VIZIO used the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas to announce a new three-year North American endorsement agreement with international pop-music icon and film star, Beyoncé Knowles - Carter. VIZIO, a popular brand for gamers, had a full line-up of new HD TVs and 3D TVs on display at CES 2010.
