Hot on the wheels of NASCAR The Game 2011, Activision is returning to racing this fall with NASCAR Unleashed. The new game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Nintendo 3DS will allow players to take their racer “to the streets” by driving on and off some of NASCAR’s most famous tracks in this stylistically souped-up arcade racing competition. This is a stark contrast to the first game’s simulation approach, which can be seen in the video below.

In his first public performance since the release of his fifth #1 album, the global smash “Watch the Throne,” Kanye West is set to close Call of Duty XP, the only full-immersion fan experience for Call of Duty gamers. It's not very often that you see a video game franchise picked up by another developer, but when it happens, it's a pretty surprising move.  Electronic Arts picking up NBA Jam, WB Games acquiring Mortal Kombat, and so forth.  Now you can add Square Enix to the list, as the company has snagged the cancelled True Crime: Hong Kong project from Activision's camp.  Here's why we think United Front Games' third person action romp deserves a second chance.

With the big screen James Bond franchise moving forward again, Activision has a new surprise for fans of Agent 007. The world’s most famous secret agent is back.  Activision has declassified the existence of GoldenEye 007: Reloaded for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, which will be shown for the first time at Comic-Con 2011 in San Diego to media. Built on a brand new engine that delivers striking visuals, blistering fast gameplay and the ability to play using the PlayStation Move with Sharp Shooter peripheral, GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is the complete James Bond experience shooter-fans have been waiting for and will launch in stores later this fall.

Activision is rolling out the Hollywood red carpet for video game and comic book fans at San Diego Comic-Con 2011. Activision Publishing and Marvel Entertainment have enlisted top-tier celebrity actors that will voice characters in the upcoming Spider-Man: Edge of Time and X-Men Destiny video games.  Both games will be playable at this year’s Comic-Con and are set to hit retail shelves this fall.

The colossal battle between the  Autobots and Decepticons is underway as Activision Publishing’s new video game, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, is now available. Created by acclaimed developer High Moon Studios and based on Hasbro’s legendary Transformers property, the game lets fans fight through epic battles as they unravel Megatron’s sinister plan and is set in the world of director Michael Bay’s upcoming movie from Paramount Pictures that will be released in theaters on June 29th.

Electronic Arts is preparing for war. This fall, the game publisher will engage in battle with arch rival Activision Publishing as two of the leading game franchises go head-to-head. Speaking during the Ad Ade conference keynote, EA CEO John Riccitiello launched the opening salvo in this fall’s big video game confrontation between EA’s Battlefield 3 and Activision’s next Call of Duty game. LOS ANGELES, California – The International 3D Society awarded Activision and Treyarch’s with the Creative Arts Lumiere Award for “Outstanding Achievement in 3D Gaming” for its cross-platform 3D shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops. The International 3D Society assembled a group of judges from mainstream media and core gaming outlets which included The Hollywood Reporter, Spike TV, Associated Press, IGN and AOL to vote on the best 3D game of 2010.

With the Daytona 500 set to kick off another season of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing, one of the big games of 2011 is hitting the track. Activision Publishing and leading independent developer Eutechnyx are bringing NASCAR fans the first licensed racing game since EA Sports NASCAR 09. While Sony did feature NASCAR racing in Gran Turismo 5, this new game focuses solely on the sport of racing and will bring the driving excitement to Xbox 360, Wii and PS3. With the buzz building for Marc Webb’s new Spider-Man reboot starring Andrew Garfield, Activision Publishing is moving forward with new Spider-Man games. The publisher announced that wholly owned development studio Beenox has been named the primary developer on upcoming Activision titles featuring Marvel’s famous web-slinger, Spider-Man.  Beenox’s most recent breakout success was with Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, one of the most highly rated Spider-Man titles to date and Wizard Magazine’s 2010 Game of the Year.

Treyarch is ready to enlist gamers from around the globe to enter the Cold War. GameStop, the world’s largest videogame and entertainment software retailer, will host events at 4,408 of its stores Monday, Nov. 8, 2010 leading up to the midnight release of the year’s most anticipated entertainment launch, Activision Publishing’s Call of Duty: Black Ops. This represents the largest number of stores opened for a midnight launch event in GameStop history.

Activision is jumping into the 3D gaming space in a big way by offering one of the big games of 2010 in stereo 3D. In what could become the definitive 3D game experience, Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops will also be playable in stereoscopic 3D when the game launches at retail outlets worldwide on November 9. While the sale of MGM has halted production of the next James Bond movie, actor Daniel Craig has been keeping in shape virtually. Activision is reviving the franchise that’s its answer to RockStar Games’ Grand Theft Auto videogame juggernaut. The publisher announced a reboot of the True Crime franchise with a new developer. Vancouver, British Columbia-based United Front Games has been working on the new open-world game inspired by classic Hollywood and Asian cinema style action thrillers. Gamers can go undercover and “become one of them” when True Crime arrives in Fall 2010 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
