Paradox Entertainment, producer of the upcoming Conan the Barbarian movie starring Jason Momoa, has signed a deal with Electronic Arts-owned Chillingo to bring video games based on the barbarian to Apple iOS devices like iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. The first game will launch this summer in tandem with the movie. In addition, new game content based on the movie is coming to Funcom’s free-to-play Age of Conan: Unchained PC massively multiplayer online (MMO) game.

SAN FRANCISCO, California – At GDC 2011, Electronic Arts announced that Chillingo and Playfish will offer publishing services to the fast-growing mobile and social gaming platforms to the independent development community. Following the successful and award-winning EA Partners program, EA will be expanding its partnership programs for Chillingo and Playfish furthering the delivery of fresh content to platforms such as the Apple App Store, Google Android and Facebook. Mobile is a key mover in gaming today thanks to Apple’s iPad 2, Google Android devices and new gaming capabilities on NVIDIA Tegra 2 smartphones and tablets.

LAS VEGAS – Gear4, a United Kingdom-based iPod and iPhone audio case manufacturer, has released UnityRemote in the U.S. Now available through Amazon, the UnityRemote device turns any iPhone, iPod touch or iPad into a universal remote control. The device is one of many products that will be on display at the company’s CES 2011 suite off the convention center floor at the Mandarin Hotel in City Center.

Epic Games has released its Epic Citadel App, which is now available from the Apple App Store. The app showcases the technical capabilities of Epic’s award-winning Unreal Engine 3 on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. In Epic Citadel, players navigate a fictional castle realm using simple controls and the innovative Multi-Touch user interface. Epic Citadel also features stunning visuals and special effects, with an environment inspired by Project Sword, Epic’s newest game.

Disney has renamed Comic Con 2010, ComiTRON. In addition to an hour-long panel featuring new footage from the 3D Tron Legacy movie, Disney Interactive Studios will be showing new Tron Evolution games and new mobile games both in its booth and off-site at a recreation of Flynn’s arcade.

Gladiators are making a return to pop culture. Following the recent success of 300, which also had a PSP game, Artificial Life and Starz Digital Media announced the launch of the official mobile game for the Starz Entertainment TV series “Spartacus: Blood and Sand", which premieres on Jan. 22, 2010. The Artificial Life game, for the iPhone and iPod touch platform, will retail for $5 on the Apple App Store.
