Telltale Games is bringing back the longest-running show in TV history. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is experiencing record sales for Rockstar Studios’ critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham City this Christmas season. And the new trailer for Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ The Dark Knight Rises has smashed the record for most combined downloads through the iTunes Movie Trailers site and the iTunes Trailers iOS app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The trailer was viewed more than 12.5 million times in its first 24 hours on December 19, breaking the previous record by well over two million. The HD trailer can be viewed below.

Paradox Entertainment, producer of the upcoming Conan the Barbarian movie starring Jason Momoa, has signed a deal with Electronic Arts-owned Chillingo to bring video games based on the barbarian to Apple iOS devices like iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. In addition, new game content based on the movie is coming to Funcom’s free-to-play Age of Conan: Unchained PC massively multiplayer online (MMO) game.

Electronic Arts is once again hosting an E3 press conference, called Gamechangers: EA 2011, before the official video game convention opens its doors. At both the press conference and the big show, EA’s lineup this year consists of games spanning a multitude of popular genres, including immersive shooters and role-playing games for hardcore players, revolutionary sports titles for sports fans, as well as mobile and casual games for the whole family.  Many gamers who grew up with Nintendo have been disappointed with the Wii for its heavy emphasis on casual gaming. There have been releases featuring the likes of Zelda and Metroid, but those have been few and far between. With the wheels of a new generation of consoles starting to go into motion, a lot of people are wondering what Nintendo's next move will be. Many wish that the next console will have more emphasis on the core gamers as opposed to the Wii. I happen to believe that Nintendo will stay its course and continue to focus on the casual gaming audience.

SAN FRANCISCO, California – Across the street from GDC 2011, Apple’s Steve Jobs introduced iOS 4.3, the latest version of the company’s mobile operating system. New features in iOS 4.3 include faster Safari mobile browsing performance with the Nitro JavaScript engine; iTunes Home Sharing; enhancements to AirPlay; the choice of using the iPad side switch to either lock the screen rotation or mute the audio; and the Personal Hotspot feature for sharing an iPhone 4 cellular data connection over Wi-Fi. RALEIGH, North Carolina -- 2K Sports has had success with NHL 2K11 on Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch. Now the sports video game maker is bringing the franchise to Apple’s popular iPad. Mike Rhinehart, senior brand manager at 2K Sports, who was at the 2011 NHL All-Star Weekend in Raleigh, said that NHL 2K11 is coming to iPad with all-new features to take advantage of the larger screen and touch pad. 2K Sports cover athlete Ryan Kesler was at the 2K Sports booth at NHL Fan Fair to sign autographs and check out the NHL 2K11 bus.

Epic Games released the latest beta of the Unreal Development Kit(UDK), the free edition of its award-winning Unreal Engine 3 that provides access to the engine’s fully integrated suite of tools, which power blockbuster games, training simulations, films and 3D visualizations. Disney Publishing Worldwide has launched its Disney Epic Mickey App for viewing Disney Digicomics on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch on the App store. The first Disney Digicomic available in the app is “Tales of Wasteland,” which comprise six eight-page short comic stories that take place in Wasteland, an alternate world made up of Disney’s forgotten creative efforts. One of the big games of 2010 will celebrate Halloween long after October. Taking the wraps off one of the most anticipated features and worst kept secrets, game developer Treyarch revealed that the community-favorite “Zombies” is coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops which hits stores worldwide on November 9 from Activision.
