DICE, an Electronic Arts studio, has had early success expaneding the Battlefield 3 experience and enhancing the free Battlelog social network with the addition of a companion “Premium” membership. Battlefield 3 Premium offers gamers early access to five digital expansion packs including Battlefield 3: Armored Kill. DICE developer Niklas Fegraeus talks about the Armored Kill expansion and how it will change the game in this exclusive video interview below.

The Battlefield army is over 12 million strong and growing every day as Battlefield 3 and its first expansion, Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand, continue to recruit gamers around the world with its sandbox gameplay and state-of-the-art technology. DICE, an Electronic Arts studio, will keep the action coming throughout the year with three new themed digital expansion packs that will introduce new modes, unique environments and more ways to wage all-out-war. Powered by the Frostbite 2 engine, the next expansion packs are: Battlefield 3: Close Quarters in June, Battlefield 3: Armored Kill in the fall, and Battlefield 3: End Game in the winter.

Since its release last year, Battlefield 3 has been gaining quite a community of driven first-person shooting fans, thanks to its realistic shooting action and intense situations.  However, said community hasn’t been crazy about the fact that the game has only seen one true expansion so far, the Back To Karkand pack.  Well, Electronic Arts resolved this last night at an event here in San Francisco, announcing not one but three new expansion packs that will help bolster the first-person shooter’s longevity.
