Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has launched The Big Bang Theory: Mystic Warlords of Ka’a. The new free-to-play Facebook game is based on the fictional fantasy card game that characters the hit CBS TV show have played over the past four seasons. The fifth season of the Warner Bros. Television comedy kicked off on its new Thursday night and the series has also entered into syndication. Now, there’s also the first video game, which fits nicely within the gamer mentality of the show’s characters.

The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) has come under fire for its exclusion of video games from its annual Grammy Awards, which airs on February 13th on CBS. Electronic Arts has been spearheading a vocal plea to get the NARAS to add a “Best Video Game Score” category to the show, which currently clumps games into an award with film and television. And some of the top composers in the field are weighing in on this exclusion.

Just in time for E3 2010, German videogame publisher Gameforge has inked a worldwide licensing agreement with CBS Consumer Products to publish free-to-play (F2P) browser games based on the legendary science-fiction franchise Star Trek. Acquiring the Star Trek license marks the start of Gameforge’s global expansion, as the online game publisher begins development to bring the Star Trek universe to life in browser-based properties, beginning in 2011. The first games under the international licensing agreement will take players into the deep reaches of space in the Star Trek Classic timeline as well as the tumultuous and vibrant timeline of Star Trek Deep Space Nine.

The New Orleans Saints aren’t the only newbies in Super Bowl XLIV. Electronic Arts has chosen the biggest TV event of the year to debut a new commercial for Dante’s Inferno. On Sunday February 7th, EA will air its first-ever Super Bowl commercial as part of the massive marketing program for the company’s newest videogame franchise. On Super Bowl Sunday, EA will invite 100 million football fans to join Dante on an adventure that spans all nine punishing circles of Hell; limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery. The 30-second spot entitled “Hell Awaits…” premieres during the fourth quarter of Super Bowl XLIV broadcast between the Saints and the Indianapolis Colts on CBS. Dante’s Inferno from EA will be in stores on February 9, 2010.
