Harry Potter Comes to Life with Quidditch World Cup in New York City

The world of Harry Potter comes to life in New York City. In celebration of the Blu-ray release of the final Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II, on November 12 and 13 the International Quidditch Association (IQA) will host the 2011 Quidditch World Cup (QWC). Nintety-five college quidditch teams will descend on New York City to compete in a live action-packed sporting event, best described as “a cross between the Super Bowl and a medieval festival.” The two days will feature 450 games with live music, entertainers, food and drink vendors, and many other exciting events.

Big Games of 2011: EA Sports Introduces Legends to NHL 12

Electronic Arts is going old school with one of the big games of 2011. EA Sports is bringing nine of the greatest players in NHL history to NHL 12, including Hall of Famers and Stanley Cup Champions Wayne Gretzky, Ray Bourque and Chris Chelios. The nine NHL greats will be integrated into the game across virtually every mode, including the all-new Be A Legend Mode, adding a new and exciting dimension to the EA Sports NHL series. Gamers will even be able to add these greats – in their prime – to any current team. Electronic Arts declared the winner of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. Using the market-leading EA Sports soccer engine that drives 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, EA was able to simulate the 2010 FIFA World Cup and test all 32 teams under the same conditions they will face in the weeks ahead. It was determined that Spain will defeat Brazil 3-1 at Soccer City on July 11 to win its first World Cup.
