Nintendo Wii U To Ship November 18th with 50 Games at Launch, Starts at $299.99

Nintendo today revealed more details about its new Wii U home console plus its touch-screen Wii U GamePad controller and announced that the Wii U will launch in the Americas on November 18th of this year. It also announced that during the launch window, more than 50 games will be available for Wii U, which will be offered in two different colors and configurations. The Basic Set will be offered in white at a suggested retail price of $299.99, while the Deluxe Set, which includes higher storage capacity, additional accessories and the new Nintendo Land video game, will be offered in black at a suggested retail price of $349.99.

Activision Expands Skylanders Franchise with Online Universe

Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure adds yet another imaginative dimension to kids’ social play with the beta launch of Skylanders Spyro’s Universe, a vast virtual world for kids to engage with Skylanders characters and their fellow players. Activision, which has had tremendous success with its Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 game’s $1 billion haul this fall, is investing in its E-rated family game.

Activision Celebrates Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer at Call of Duty XP

Los Angeles – Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg kicked the global Call of Duty fan community into overdrive when he presided over the debut of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’sepic multiplayer mode, the opening act of Call of Duty XP, the greatest Call of Duty gamer celebration ever conceived. Over 6,000 people attended the first day of the two-day event, including approximately 350 journalists from around the world.

E3 2011: Activision Mixes Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 with Skylanders Spyro's Adventure at Booth

LOS ANGELES – If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Activision is sticking with what works at E3 2011, focusing on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and its companion online service, Call of Duty Eliteat its booth. The game maker also has new Marvel video games for Spider-Man and X-Men fans, as well as Prototype 2 for core gamers. And for the kids, there’s Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventures (video shown below).

 Following the release of the trailer for Modern Warfare 3, Activision sent out a press release to officially announce the next installment of the series. Within the release, the date of the game has been set for November 8, 2011. Activision also took the time to voice their confidence in the next game, claiming it will raise the bar both for the franchise and all other first-person shooters.
