In tandem with this video game release, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will unleash the James Bond Collection on Blu-ray for the first time, which will allow gamers to watch, and then play, the entire James Bond collection.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has sold more than 1.2 million units of the action-fantasy film Immortals in its first week. Nearly half of those sales were for Blu-ray versions of the game and 10% were for the 3D Blu-ray combo pack. If there's a company that has proven that old-school games do big business, it's Konami.  A few years back, it brought back the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game to Xbox Live, attracting a whole new crowd to the old-school beat-em-up antics, complete with online play.  And last year, it continued to capitalize on such success with the enjoyable X-Men: The Arcade Game.  Next week, it'll be back once more with the long-overdue -- and highly requested -- The Simpsons Arcade.  And yes, it's officially coming, at least from what Sony says.

LAS VEGAS -- During his final keynote at CES 2012, Microsoft executive Steve Ballmer announced that the company has partnered with News Corporation to launch a series of new apps for Xbox LIVE that will feature content from News Corp.’s leading broadcast, news and Web properties. The apps will incorporate content — as well as voice- and motion-activated controls using Kinect for Xbox 360 — from brands including Fox Broadcasting Co. (FOX), Fox News Channel, IGN Entertainment and The Wall Street Journal.

LAS VEGAS – Microsoft executive Steve Ballmer did talk about games during his final keynote of the Consumer Electronics Show. The Xbox 360 has sold over 66 million pieces of hardware since it first launched in 2006, including 10 million in Q4 2011. Microsoft’s motion-sensor Kinect device has continued to sell well with an installed base of 18 million gamers. And Microsoft now has a robust community of over 40 million Xbox Live users.

LOS ANGELES – 20th Century Fox has enlisted first-time director Josh Trank with a brand new superhero franchise. And for good reason. He created it with screenwriter Max Landis (Frankenstein). Chronicle, which hits theaters February 3, 2012, follows the thrilling journey of a trio of teenage boys who uncover super powers in Seattle.  The thriller was filmed in the found footage sub-genre made popular by movies like Cloverfield and Paranormal Activity. Chronicle is shaping up to be one of the big movies of 2012, as the trailer below shows.

There’s never been a better time for Gleeks. The new season of “Glee” has righted its ship after a rocky start, and now there’s a new Konami Karaoke Revolution: Glee Volume 3 game for Wii on store shelves. Complementing the third Wii game is Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment’s Glee: The Concert Movie 3D Blu-ray. The new movie introduces Shazam technology, which connects your PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Blu-ray, or DVD player to your smartphone.

James Cameron made Avatar to take advantage of 3D technology, but the Oscar-winning filmmaker also made sure that the film would play well in 2D. And although he originally said the experience was designed for a large screen, Avatar has been a hit on mobile devices. The movie comes pre-installed on the T-Mobile Samsung Virbant Galaxy S. Now Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Lightstorm Entertainment are bringing a first-of-its-kind interactive version of the film called Avatar iTunes Extras Special Edition beginning on Tuesday, December 20. On October 22nd some of the biggest names in skateboarding history converged in California to compete in the first-ever Sonic Generations of Skate.  Now their exploits will air on Fox Sports Network on Black Friday, November 25th. In celebration of Sonic the Hedgehog’s 20th Anniversary and the release of Sonic Generations, the one-hour special features top professional skateboarders from three generations such as Steve Caballero, Sandra Dias, Pierre Luc Gagnon (PLG), Tony Hawk and Andy Macdonald.  Skaters from each generation battle it out in teams over four events; performing various tricks, jumps and team routines.  Watch as one team is crowned the first Sonic Generations of Skate winner and receives their trophy from the legendary video game icon Sonic the Hedgehog. LAS VEGAS – The UFC continues to grow its audience with the first live network television broadcast of the Heavyweight Championship bout between Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos on Fox November 12th. THQ will be able to capitalize on mixed martial arts (MMA) entering the mainstream. The publisher has taken extra time developing its fourth UFC video game, and third in its Undisputed franchise. The game maker unveiled the latest details on UFC Undisputed 3 in Las Vegas. THQ producer Deven Dravinsky talks about the new MMA game and how they’re bringing Pride gameplay and fighters like Wanderlei Silva into the fold in this exclusive video interview.

In celebration of Sonic the Hedgehog’s 20th Anniversary and his upcoming videogame, Sonic Generations, Sega has teamed up with action sports event producer ASA Entertainment for Sonic Generations of Skate. The event will feature three generations of professional skaters competing throughout the Sonic-themed day. On Saturday, October 22, Sonic and skateboarding fans will descend on Venice Beach, California (on the basketball courts near Muscle Beach), the iconic location where performance skateboarding planted its roots. Viewers at home will also be able to catch all the action on Fox Sports Network on Friday, November 25th.

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Worldwide is joining forces with visionary filmmaker James Cameron and Fox Filmed Entertainment to bring the world of AVATAR to life at Disney parks. Through an exclusive agreement, Disney will partner with Cameron and producing partner Jon Landau to create themed lands that will give theme park guests the opportunity to explore the mysterious universe of AVATAR first hand. Disney plans to build the first AVATAR themed land at Walt Disney World, within the Animal Kingdom park. With its emphasis on living in harmony with nature, Animal Kingdom is a natural fit for the AVATAR stories, which share the same philosophy. Construction is expected to begin by 2013.

Rovio is officially going Hollywood. The game developer from Helsinki has big plans for its Angry Birds franchise. The latest move is the hiring of Andrew Stalbow as General Manager of North America. In his previous role as Senior Vice President of Mobile at Fox Digital Entertainment, Andrew was responsible for app publishing and video licensing for 20th Century Fox properties such as Glee, Avatar and The Simpsons, and worked with Rovio on the development of the Angry Birds Rio game, a unique integration between Angry Birds and the Fox film Rio.

One of the best-reviewed 3D computer-animated movies since Dreamworks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon dominated the domestic box office this weekend. Blue Sky Studios proved they can succeed in the modern day, after ruling the Ice Age. RIO earned over $40 million on 6,400 screens at 3,826 locations over the weekend, which is good news for Fox, as well as game publishers THQ and game makers Rovio. Fox saw its movie get the biggest opening of the year so far. THQ has a flock of RIO games for consoles and portables. With “Glee” still dominating the TV space and iTunes, Fox has partnered with Konami Digital Entertainment to extend the TV experience onto the Wii. The new Karaoke Revolution Glee: Volume 2 game allows players of all ages to sing alongside the McKinley High Glee club. The sequel features an all-new musical lineup with 20 of the show's greatest hits.
