EVE Online Gamers Can Buy Real World NVIDIA Cards with Game's Virtual Currency

CCP Games, developer of the epic sci-fi MMO EVE Online, will be facilitating the sale of high-end NVIDIA graphics cards (GeForce 560GTX cards) through one of EVE's virtual currencies, PLEX. This is one of the very first times a virtual currency has been accepted as payment for real-world items, particularly such high-value merchandise as graphics cards. CCP Games recently celebrated DUST 514 and EVE Online at FanFest in Iceland.

Thousands of Battlefield 3 PC Gamers Open Fire Aboard the USS Hornet

NVIDIA pulled out all the stops for its GeForce LAN 6 event, which gave thousands of gamers the change to play through three levels in Electronic Arts Battlefield 3 before anyone else. DICE even took part in the weekend festivities, which were held aboard the USS Hornet aircraft carrier. Some of the lucky PC gamers who brought their own rigs to this once-in-a-lifetime event talk about the new game, which launches October 25, in this video below.

It’s been a long wait, but a pair of gamers will be able to get a first taste of the most delayed game in history. NVIDIA posted a video on its YouTube channel early Thursday announcing that YouTube 3D videos and channels now run and support NVIDIA's 3D Vision active shutter 3D glasses technology.
