LAS VEGAS -- Intel brought its director of creative innovation will.i.am on stage during Paul Otellini’s keynote at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Will.i.am is gearing up for another world tour. This time, however, he will be traveling around the globe as part of the Intel Ultrabook Project. Mirroring the musician’s vision of a richer, more participatory music experience for his fans, the Ultrabook Project will put music at the epicenter of social content to create the ultimate musical expedition. Fans will be able to see what will.i.am sees and experiences, and showcases the inspiration for and creation process behind each of the pieces of music.

LAS VEGAS -- Executives from business, government, entertainment, automotive, consumer electronics and every major industry converged on the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012) to experience new ways of doing business at the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow. Games were everywhere as Sony showcased PlayStation 3 and PS Vita, Nintendo had its Wii U playable, Microsoft showed Kinect for Xbox 360 and PC, and game publishers had titles across all platforms, including tablets and smartphones. Owned and produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), CES 2013 will return to Las Vegas January 8-11 2013.

LAS VEGAS -- Major product launches from more than 3,100 exhibitors and keynotes from the leaders of Qualcomm, Mercedes and Intel launched the 2012 International CES on Tuesday. Owned and produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), CES 2012, the world's largest tradeshow for consumer technology, runs through Friday, January 13 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Gaming was also prevalent with Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft all showing content. NVIDIA continues to push portable gaming and tablet pricing with Tegra as seen in the video below.

LAS VEGAS -- Intel used the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012) to demonstrate a prototype ultrabook dubbed Nikiski that features a transparent touch pad panel allowing tablet-style operation. The advent of the Nikiski represents the first wave of what promises to be a deluge of tablet-style ultrabooks designed to stave off the inroads of Apple’s iPad and other competing devices.

The peripheral makers at Razer are already shaking things up enough at the Consumer Electronics Show with a hands-on look at its latest PC, complete with a digital screen built into the keyboard for great effect.  However, it looks like that's just the beginning of the company's tech savvy ways, as it's introducing a new gaming tablet that not only promises to be as high end as any given gaming laptop, but also innovative with the introduction of a pair of PlayStation Move-like controllers.

At CES 2012 in Las Vegas, Lenovo is showcasing the ThinkPad X1 Hybrid laptop, combining the thin, light and performance benefits of its predecessor - the X1 – with double the battery life, up to 10 hours, via the hybrid’s Instant Media Mode, powered by a second processor and operating system. Lenovo also announced today the ThinkPad T430u ultrabook, the company’s first business ultrabook giving professionals exceptionally thin and light design without sacrificing performance and productivity.

ANAHEIM -- After the Costume Contest at BlizzCon, comedian Jay Mohr kept the hits coming with the Intel Dance Contest. 31 competitors took the stage with a lot of interesting (and sometimes embarrasing) interpretations of various dances like the Goblin. SAN FRANCISCO, California – At GDC 2011, Portal 2 developer Valve Software announced a new Steam and Steamworks feature called Steam Guard, which gives users greatly increased account security. Steam Guard allows users to link management of their account to a specific PC. Attempts to modify or change account settings by any other PC won't be possible without the user's approval.

With Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo showing off the latest motion-sensor games at E3 2010 in Los Angeles last week, Softkinetic, Optrima and Metrological Media Innovations have partnered to offer set-top-box and television manufacturers an integrated 3D gesture-based solution that will transform home entertainment. In addition, Softkinetic and Optrima technologies will be offered to media service operators as part of Metrological’s Mediaconnect TV system, enabling Metrological to provide their global customer base with 3D gesture-based interfaces, video games and other interactive gesture-based applications. The commercial deployment of Mediaconnect TV begins in Europe in the coming weeks and is expected to begin in North America by fall of this year.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Mark Rein was at the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas for DICE 2010 to award the winners of the Intel $1 Million Make Something Unreal Contest with their prizes during a luncheon that officially kicked off the annual videogame conference. The grand prize winning mod team from Germany was awarded an Unreal Engine 3 commercial license in addition to a check for $50,000 for The Haunted, with runner-up winners receiving $40,000 for The Ball, $30,000 for Angels Fall First: Planetstorm, $20,000 for Prometheus and $10,000 for Hazard: The Journey of Life. Educational category winners also received a total of $25,000 in cash, for a grand total well in excess of $1 million in cash and prizes awarded through all phases of the competition.

Summit (www.dicesummit.org) in Las Vegas, Nevada, Epic Games announced the grand prize winners in its $1 Million Intel Make Something Unreal Contest.
