The Minnesota Twins made their catcher and 2009 American League Most Valuable Player a very rich man. Joe Mauer signed an 8-year, $184 million contract extension with his hometown team. The 27 year old Mauer is already a 2-time Gold Glove winner, 3-time Silver Slugger, and 3-time American League batting champion. This is great news for Mauer and Twins fans, but it’s also good news for Sony. Sony signed Mauer as the cover athlete for MLB 10: The Show for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and PSP earlier this year.
