Just in time for E3 2010, German videogame publisher Gameforge has inked a worldwide licensing agreement with CBS Consumer Products to publish free-to-play (F2P) browser games based on the legendary science-fiction franchise Star Trek. Acquiring the Star Trek license marks the start of Gameforge’s global expansion, as the online game publisher begins development to bring the Star Trek universe to life in browser-based properties, beginning in 2011. The first games under the international licensing agreement will take players into the deep reaches of space in the Star Trek Classic timeline as well as the tumultuous and vibrant timeline of Star Trek Deep Space Nine.

Square Enix, Inc. will showcase KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep at E3 2010 in Los Angeles June 15-17. The new PSP exclusive will ship to North American retailers on September 7, 2010. KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep brings to life unexplored worlds from everyone’s favorite Disney stories. It’s the latest game in a global franchise that has already topped 14 million units in sales.

Atari and Syfy have entered into an exclusive partnership to promote the new massively multiplayer online (MMO) game Star Trek Online, which ships for the PC on February 2, 2010.  The new game features the voice work of Leonard Nimoy and Zachary Quinto from the recent Star Trek movie by J.J. Videogame publisher Atari and Del Taco, the nation’s No. 2 Mexican fast food chain, have partnered on a special promotion allowing eager fans early access to the highly anticipated massively multiplayer online game, Star Trek Online. Created by Cryptic Studios, Star Trek Online for PC is set to release on February 2, 2010 in North America and will feature the voice acting of both Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy as the two Spocks.

Leonard Nimoy is reprising the role of Spock one last time. After helping to jumpstart the new film franchise this year with J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot, Nimoy will be heard as Spock in the 2010 release of Star Trek Online. Atari and acclaimed MMO developer Cryptic Studios announced that Leonard Nimoy, the actor who originated the legendary and beloved Star Trek character of Spock more than 40 years ago, has joined the cast of Star Trek Online, the first massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) ever set in the Star Trek universe.
