MLB All-Star Game Joins Home Run Derby and Sony's MLB 10 as 3D Spectacles

DIRECTV, Major League Baseball and FOX Sports, continuing to lead the industry in sports programming innovation, will offer the 2010 MLB All-Star Game in 3D exclusively on DIRECTV’s new 3D channel, n3D  powered by Panasonic (Channel 103). This makes it a 3D sweep for MLB All-Star as ESPN3D will bring the State Farm Home Run Derby to customers in 3D on Monday, July 12, as well. On top of this, gamers can play Sony's MLB 10 PlayStation 3 videogame in 3D now, as well, taking in both events virtually in 3D.

Sony Computer Entertainment America Stands Up To Cancer with MLB 10: The Show

Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (SCEA), Major League Baseball, and Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) are teaming up to fight cancer this year.  Beginning June 13 through July 10, for every copy of MLB 10 The Show purchased for PlayStation 3 in retail stores, SCEA will donate $10 of its proceeds to SU2C to fuel research centered on getting new treatments to patients quickly and saving lives.  Baseball fans across the U.S. now will have the opportunity to play the most authentic and realistic baseball game in MLB 10: The Show, while also joining the ever-growing SU2C community to raise awareness and funds for cancer research.

Minnesota Twins Sign MLB 10 Cover Athlete Joe Mauer to an 8-Year, $184 Million Deal

The Minnesota Twins made their catcher and 2009 American League Most Valuable Player a very rich man. Joe Mauer signed an 8-year, $184 million contract extension with his hometown team. The 27 year old Mauer is already a 2-time Gold Glove winner, 3-time Silver Slugger, and 3-time American League batting champion. This is great news for Mauer and Twins fans, but it’s also good news for Sony. Sony signed Mauer as the cover athlete for MLB 10: The Show for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and PSP earlier this year. Joe Mauer Near Big Contract, Gets Motion Captured for Sony’s MLB 10 Game

Joe Mauer, the Minnesota Twins catcher and reigning AL MVP, who is reportedly close to signing a big 10 year contract extension worth $200 million, was at Sony’s San Diego studio yesterday getting motion captured for the upcoming game “MLB 10: The Show.” Mauer and his #7 jersey is the cover boy for this year’s version of the Sony PlayStation baseball title. MLB 10 will feature a new Catcher mode that was designed with Mauer in mind as well as a new ”Road to the Show” mode , which is basically a career mode that will follow your player in the game. The game will also feature Real Time Presentation where gamers will be able to watch players move around realistically in real time.
