NEW YORK CITY – EA Sports attracted the top NFL rookies to its NCAA Football Draft Night Premiere event. One of the more avid gamers in attendance was Cleveland Browns first round draft pick Trent Richardson. Fresh of a national championship with Alabama, Richardson talks about his love and devotion to video games in this exclusive video interview below.

NEW YORK CITY – Calvin Johnson, Jr., wide receiver for the Detroit Lions, was selected by millions of fans across the country to grace the cover of Madden NFL 13, which will hit store shelves August 28.  Johnson, a No. 6 seed, defeated fellow NFL Pro Bowler Cam Newton, a No.1seed, in a thrilling matchup culminating in a live unveiling on ESPN’s SportsNation and a cover photo shoot for the winner in New York City’s Times Square. This year’s vote campaign surpassed last year’s totals by 54% (19.6 million vs. 12.7 million), ending with Johnson triumphing over Newton by a final margin of 52% to 48%. EA Sports unveiled the first Madden NFL 13 screenshot showcasing new Nike uniforms. The EA Sports development team was granted early access to the new designs of the NFL uniforms and used this insight to meticulously recreate the Nike clothing in Madden NFL 13. Nike signed a five-year exclusive deal with the NFL, which brings Reebok's reign as official clothing manufacturer to an end in real life and in videogames.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is one of the players vying to be on the cover of EA Sports Madden NFL 13. He even created a video for Electronic Arts to explain why he should be on the cover. Gronkowski spent some time with Activision to play the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Collection 1 DLC in Los Angeles. He talks about how much he loves the new game in the exclusive video interview below. But he also calls Madden boring and prefers to play COD and NHL 12 when he’s gaming. EA SPORTS and ESPN are once again allowing fans to cast the vote for the next Madden cover athlete. The Madden NFL Cover Vote campaign for Madden NFL 13 has officially kicked off. Last year, nearly 13 million votes were cast through ESPNSportsNation.com and ESPN mobile in both companies’ most successful cross-platform activation. Tenth-seeded Cleveland Browns running back, Peyton Hillis, trucked through the six week competition all the way to the ultimate end zone – the Madden NFL 12 cover. EA teased this news at the Madden Bowl in Indianapolis during Super Bowl week. INDIANAPOLIS – At the end of the day, Maurice Jones-Drew didn’t add to his Madden Bowl trophy collection. But that’s not his fault. The NFL Pro Bowl running back and star of the Jacksonville Jaguars was part of a three-man team as EA Sports stuck with its Madden Bowl XVII format for the Indianapolis competition before Super Bowl XLVI. INDIANAPOLIS -- The Circle City isn't just home to Super Bowl XLVI this year, it's also home to Madden Bowl XVIII and the next best thing to winning the Super Bowl for NFL players is to win the Madden Bowl. Jacksonville Jaguars' running back Maurice Jones-Drew knows a thing or two about the Madden Bowl, having won Madden Bowl XVI in Miami a couple of years ago. He's gone on to add the NFL rushing title to his trophy case with 1,606 rushing yards this year. His competitive fire also bleeds through to fantasy football where he is an avid fantasy football player and also hosts his own radio show on XM Sirius titled Runnin' with MJD just talking about fantasy football talk and strategy. We caught up with Jones-Drew on the EA Sports' Blue Carpet at the Bud Light Hotel in downtown Indianapolis where Jones-Drew talks about how he's got the bragging rights as the best Madden NFL football player in the NFL. Before the New York Giants defeat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI (at least according to the Madden NFL 12 simulation), EA Sports is throwing its annual videogame bash at the Bud Light Hotel. NFL legends past and current will mingle with celebrities. And in addition to the 3-on-3 videogame tournament format, which was introduced last year to incorporate online team play into the mix, there will also be concerts featuring Nas and The Roots. New York’s other quarterback, the Jets’ Jeff Garcia, is a Madden Bowl regular and talks gaming in this exclusive video interview below.

Nas and The Roots will perform live at the party, which will take place at the Bud Light Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. Once again, EA Sports will use the 3-on-3 format to allow teams of NFL pros and celebrities to face off on Madden NFL 12. The party is expected to attract NFL pros, NFL legends and many celebrities.
