A new season of college football is kicking off. Electronic Arts and NCAA Football have partnered with a new fellowship program that will provide former football student-athletes an opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of the games industry as well as the business of sports. Interested applicants may work directly through EA SPORTS University Relations. NCAA Football 12 just came out, and players are once again enthralled by the non-stop football excitement and the real-to-life presentation.  But not everyone is cheering over EA's NCAA games coverage.  A lawsuit is still pending from various former players, who are suing over the company and the NCAA using their likenesses in both football and basketball games.  What could possibly happen if the lawsuit goes in their favor?  A painful blow to EA's wallet, that's what.

Making a video game isn't easy, but it's hard work that truly pays off if the right effort goes into it.  Just ask Alex Howell, associate designer for the just-released EA Sports game NCAA Football 12.  To commemorate the game's release, Alex and his team worked closely with the folks at ESPNU on a four-part documentary that covers the making of the game, both through the highs and the lows.  While we wait for the first part of the four-part series to air on July 14th (on ESPNU), we chatted with Alex about the documentary.

The first two weeks of ESPN 3D’s inaugural college football season will open up with telecasts involving three of the top five ranked teams in an ESPN.com early preseason Top 25 poll. Coverage will begin with No. 2 Boise State, entering the season with a 14-game winning streak, against No. 5 Virginia Tech from FedEx Field, home of the Washington Redskins Monday, Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. ET.  The network will telecast approximately 13 college football games this season, concluding with the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game on Monday, January 10 at 8:30 p.m. The people behind these 3D telecasts talk about the technology in this exclusive video interview from the MLB All-Star Game in Anaheim.
