Big Games of 2011: Valve Software’s Portal 2 Offers Cross Platform Multiplayer
Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises like Half-Life and Counter-Strike and leading technologies such as Steam and Source, is readying gamers for the April launch of Portal 2 on PC, Mac and PlayStation 3. Marking the debut of Steam functioning on any next generation console, the features shipping in the PS3 version of Portal 2 include cross platform play (PC/Mac vs. PS3) for multiplayer games, persistent cloud-based storage of PS3 saved games, and cross platform chat (PC/Mac and PS3). In addition, those who purchase Portal 2 for the PlayStation 3 may unlock a Steam Play (PC & Mac) copy of Portal 2 at no additional cost by linking their PSN and Steam accounts.

Big Games of 2010: Zombies Invade Call of Duty: Black Ops

One of the big games of 2010 will celebrate Halloween long after October. Taking the wraps off one of the most anticipated features and worst kept secrets, game developer Treyarch revealed that the community-favorite “Zombies” is coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops which hits stores worldwide on November 9 from Activision. Zombies were originally introduced in Call of Duty: World at War and became an instant hit. Call of Duty: Black Ops fans can combat the zombie apocalypse in up to four-player co-op gameplay. Insomniac Games Adds Co-Op Comedy to Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One

Insomniac Games has expanded to Durham, North Carolina and has a team of 30 working on the first cooperative Ratchet & Clank game. Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One for PlayStation 3 will offer four-player co-op gameplay and an original story that blends the franchise’s trademark tongue-in-cheek humor. PAX PRIME 2010: No Joke, 2K Games and Gearbox Finally Reveal Duke Nukem Forever

SEATTLE -- 2K Games and developer Gearbox made a surprise reveal at the PAX PRIME 2010 in Seattle when they showed the game for the first time. PAX Prime 2010, also known as the Penny Arcade Expo, is an annual public show centered around video games. Many of the top video game companies are on hand to show off their latest products, some for the first time like Duke Nukem Forever. Duke Nukem Forever's reveal quickly became the biggest story at PAX because of its long history of false starts and its surprise appearance and announcement at PAX that caught even the game media by surprise.
