E3 2011: EA Shows Off Mass Effect 3 and Competes With Call of Duty: Elite at Press Conference
If you're a fan of RPGs, you're most likely looking forward to Mass Effect 3. If you love military shooters, you're looking forward to Battlefield 3. EA held its press conference earlier this afternoon, showing off some of the biggest games due to come out both this year and next, including the aforementioned titles. Besides the blockbuster games, EA also is pushing online stat tracking services a lot of the upcoming titles. And by the way, they're all free.

EA Sports Sitting Out Another Year of NBA Simulation Basketball, New Video Game Not Coming Until Fall 2012
As the 2011 NBA Playoff picture is getting clearer and the Los Angeles Lakers looking for a threepeat World Championship, EA Sports has announced that it will sit out yet another season of NBA video game basketball. The sports giant’s last game was NBA Live 10, which featured Orlando Magic “Superman” Dwight Howard on the cover. Electronic Arts abandoned that franchise name with its 2010 game, NBA ELITE 11, but canceled the title. The next simulation hoops game from EA will be hitting stores in fall 2012. Oklahoma City Thunder NBA All-Star Kevin Durant, who was on the cover of the never-released ELITE game, begs EA Sports to release his game in this exclusive video interview.

EA Sports Introduces NBA Elite 11 this October

With the Lakers vs. Celtics match-up a reality – and also the name of one of EA Sports early basketball videogames, Electronic Arts has changed the name of its NBA game franchise. NBA ELITE will be the new moniker of the long running NBA videogame franchise.  NBA ELITE 11 will revolutionize the way basketball simulation games are played, with an all-new technology base, a new control scheme and a real-time physics system. Currently in development for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, NBA ELITE 11 will be available in retail stores this October. The game will be shown at E3 2010.

After months of non-stop infidelity tabloid stories, Tiger Woods is set to return to golf today in Augusta, Georgia at The Masters. EA Sports used this week’s Masters as a backdrop to launch its first online golf game, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Online. On MSNBC, EA Sports President Peter Moore defended the game publisher’s choice to stand by Woods, while companies like Accenture and Gatorade cut ties with him amidst the adultery and sex scandals.

Maurice Jones-Drew Takes Home Madden Bowl XVI Trophy

Miami, Florida – There was more than just Super Bowl XLIV between the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts at stake this week in Miami. Maurice Jones-Drew took home the other trophy – a diamond encrusted Madden Bowl Xbox 360 console – at Madden Bowl XVI. In front of hundreds of NFL players at the swank Clevelander Hotel on South Beach, the Jacksonville Jaguars running back pummeled linebacker Patrick Willis of the San Francisco 49ers 13-3.
