Sony’s San Diego Studio has been working on ModNation Racers: Road Trip, a portable PlayStation Vita incarnation of the hit PlayStation 3 game. The PS Vita game allows players to connect online to share and play any creations from both the PS3 game and the new travel-sized version. Gamers can quickly create karts and tracks and then jump into competitive ad hoc races against friends (there’s on online racing support). The developer walks through the new game in this exclusive video below.

LAS VEGAS – Baseball started early at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012).  Sony Computer Entertainment America featured its first PS Vita sports title, MLB 12 The Show, at its booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The latest installment of the number-one selling and rated Major League Baseball game franchise introduces cross-platform gameplay. Gamers who own both the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita game can use the cloud to save and progress through the game’s options. This past weekend at Miami Beach’s Art Basel, the international art festival’s first-ever 3D art installation transformed Ocean Drive’s famed Tides Hotel into Art Basel’s largest canvas at more than 8,000 square feet. Inspired by the famous graphic design style seen in 1980s and early 1990s video games, now referred to as 8-bit art, the installation was presented by Hyundai and created by Pearl Media, a non-traditional media and production company specializing in groundbreaking media and art experiences.  The program was conceived by media agency Initiative and their Innovations group.

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has gone 3D. THQ has unleashed WWE All Stars for Nintendo 3DS. The new game comes packed with a roster of WWE Legends and prominent current-day WWE Superstars, including 13 WWE playable characters offered as downloadable content for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 titles earlier this year.  Cory Ledesma lays the smackdown on the jump to the third dimension in the video interview below.

Legendary Entertainment (The Dark Knight Rises) is developing several videogame projects, including WarCraft based on Blizzard Entertainment’s game franchise and Mass Effect based on BioWare’s franchise. The producers of the Mass Effect movie were at San Diego Comic-Con this year. They didn’t have time to answer all of the fan questions at the panel, so they posted the below questions on their Web site. Filmmakers are working with Mass Effect creator Casey Hudson on the project, which is being written by Mark Protosevich (Thor).

Yoostar for MTV is ready to take the world by storm. The Kinect for Xbox 360 ships November 15th and will offer a new angle on hit shows like “Jersey Shore” and music videos from the likes of Snoop Dogg. The game celebrates some of the most memorable moments in MTV history by casting themselves as stars of their favorite MTV programs.  Offering aspiring performers the opportunity to virtually rehearse before the big day, the Yoostar on MTV demo is now currently available on Xbox Live.

To celebrate the launch of the Super Mario 3D Land game for the Nintendo 3DS handheld system, Nintendo had hundreds of Marios invade Westfield Horton Plaza in San Diego. But that was just the start. The game maker is also giving fans in New York City a rare opportunity to experience the new 3D game early. Anyone who visits Times Square on November 12 will be invited to play inside Mario’s 3D world with life size warp pipes, trampoline coin jumps and a flag pole finale. Consumers will also have a special opportunity to play Super Mario 3D Land in advance of its official November 13 release date.

Actor Milo Ventimiglia became a household name as Peter Petrelli in NBC’s hit TV series, “Heroes.” He parlayed that fame to the big screen, playing Sylvester Stallone’s son Rocky Balboa. These days, the actor is all about the Marvel comic book universe. He’s providing the voice of Logan in the new animated Wolverine TV series. And he’s bringing a brand new mutant to life in Activision’s X-Men Legacy video game. The actor talks about his new role in the video below.

Actress Ashley Eckstein, who’s married to former MLB star David Eckstein, has been keeping busy in the video game space. The actress voices Ahsoka Tano in Cartoon Networks’ hit computer animated TV series, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.” She’s also brought that character to life in a slew of Clone Wars video games, including LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Republic Hero. Comic-Con 2011 packed plenty of little surprises within its halls, including several new comic book enterprises, plenty of cool merchandise, and a few celeb signings we didn't see coming.  But we'll be honest -- nothing could've prepared us for Abobo's Big Adventure, an 8-bit game that will soon be released for Flash play (no charge) over at AbobosBigAdventure.com.

Steven Spielberg made his first trek to San Diego for Comic-Con this year. He was joined on a panel for The Adventures of TinTin: The Secret of the Unicorn by producer Peter Jackson, who flew in from the set of The Hobbit. Based on a popular European comic book franchise, the first of three TinTin movies will hit theaters this Christmas. There’s also a new video game from Ubisoft that will be out this fall in tandem with the live action/computer-generated film. Jackson and Spielberg talk about the new 3D movie in the video below.

As the successor to one of the most successful PC role-playing game franchises of all time, the upcoming Guild Wars 2 is one of the most highly anticipated titles in its genre. The game promises to build off the stunning visuals, massive role playing environments, innovative combat mechanics, dynamic events and personal storytelling innovations that fans are already excited for. At San Diego Comic-Con 2011, the ArenaNet team demonstrated the recently announced engineer profession and Underwater Combat areas, along with the opportunity to for fans to begin their journey in the icy highlands of the Norn race starting zone.

There were plenty of risqué costumes at Comic-Con. San Diego becomes a hotbed of Slave Leia outfits from Star Wars and cosplay babes. But normally the Con is fine with these Wonder Women and other scantily-clad outfits. It seems the line has been drawn at Aeon Flux, though, as Playboy model and reality TV star Adrianne Curry was escorted out of the convention for wearing too little. It seems the police didn’t want to have an onslaught of fan boy heart attacks. You can check out Curry’s outfits and judge for yourself below.
