DUST 514 is a free to play massively online FPS produced by CCP Games in their Shanghai studio. The game is only at the Beta stage but can be played on the PSN already. Taking place in the EVE universe and rich of its very large background history, vast star systems and millions of player controlling thousands of corporations and other pirate clans, DUST has a lot to answer for as the expectations of many, could not be higher.

Sony Computer Entertainment made the trek to China Joy in Beijing to promote Gran Turismo 5 with Chinese gamers. Polyphony Digital President Kazunori Yamauchi was on hand to sign autographs and discuss the franchise with media. The conversation turned to Gran Turismo 6 and Gran Turismo Vita. The rest of the world is about to get their hands on Epic Games China’s Mercenary Ops. The PC-exclusive, third-person perspective shooter launched in China back in 2010. New publisher Delkans is launching the Unreal Engine 3 game in the U.S. and Europe this summer. Developed in Shanghai by a large number of ex-Ubisoft Tom Clancy developers, the game is being updated for the English-speaking gaming audience. One of the big games of 2012 comes from Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Shanghai and Massive Entertainment. Far Cry 3, which was announced at E3, is in development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The new game introduces Jason Brody, a man alone at the edge of the world, stranded on a mysterious tropical island. In this savage paradise where lawlessness and violence are the only sure thing, players dictate how the story unfolds, from the battles they choose to fight to the allies or enemies they make along the way. As Jason Brody, players will slash, sneak, detonate and shoot their way across the island in a world that has lost all sense of right and wrong. Acclaimed videogame creator American McGee is returning to Wonderland with the help of Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3. Electronic Arts is publishing the long-awaited sequel and one of the big games of 2011, Alice: Madness Returns, across PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. McGee’s Shanghai-based Spicy Horse, which is the largest Western game development studio in China, is bringing this universe to life using UE3. McGee has worked with this engine over the past few years on episodic game projects like Grimm, which added a twisted take to classic faerie tales. WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT – With the economy bouncing back and more people going on vacation, Disney is expanding its realm of theme parks. Al Weiss, President of Worldwide Operations for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, was on hand at Walt Disney World for the debut of The Magic Kingdom’s newest attraction, “The Magic, the Memories and You.” The new show uses animation, digital photography, lights and pyrotechnics to tell a 10-minute story each night that’s projected on Cinderella’s Castle. Weis announced that construction is underway for Shanghai Disneyland and that Hong Kong Disneyland has three new themed lands in development.
