The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Sprint tipped off 2012 NBA All-Star Balloting  during a special event in Orlando, the official host city of NBA All-Star 2012. The 61st NBA All-Star Game, which will air live on TNT and ESPN Radio in the U.S., and reach fans in more than 200 countries and territories in more than 40 languages, will be played at the Amway Center on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012. Despite the lockout and the shortened season, the NBA will take a break to celebrate the biggest names in basketball. Gamers won't have to rely on 2K Sports' NBA 2K12 to simulate the celebration of basketball this year. Traditionally, EA Sports, 2K Sports and Sony PlayStation have all taken part in the All Star festivities.

The FIFA Interactive World Cup is set to climax with the most exciting Grand Final in the event’s seven-year history. FIFA and the event’s partners Sony PlayStation and EA Sports will be fly the 24 finalists of the world’s largest virtual soccer (or football, for everyone outside of the U.S.) tournament to Los Angeles, where the winner will be crowned amidst a three-day entertainment extravaganza. The Grand Final will be held from June 7-9 2011, to coincide with the world’s largest gaming conference E3, which will be held in Los Angeles on the same dates.

BARCELONA, Spain – While Sony PlayStation games like Crash Bandicoot were shown on the new Sony Ericsson Xperia Play phone at Mobile World Congress 2011, Sony Computer Entertainment’s ubiquitous PlayStation 2 passed a major milestone with over 150 million hardware units sold worldwide. This incredible milestone was reached in 10 years and 11 months since PlayStation 2's release in Japan in March 2000. In addition to its 3D gaming and Blu-ray 3D PlayStation 3, Sony has a new PlayStation Suite coming out for Android phones and the NGP (Next Generation PlayStation System) ready for fall. WHA Entertainment announced that award winning composer Anderson Scores has composed the original score for Kick-Ass, the upcoming worldwide game release for Apple iPhone due out April 15, and the Sony PlayStation Network (PSN), launching April 29. Kick-Ass is a superhero action game based on the upcoming major motion picture by the same name.

More than 30,000 games have been released in the iPhone App Store since its launch in July 2008. With titles that consistently dominate the Top Paid and Top Grossing lists, according to technology research firm Flurry, there is no question that the games category is the most lucrative category in the App Store. Peter Farago, vice president of marketing at Flurry, said a new report from his firm focuses on how Apple has affected the market share of U.S. videogame and portable game revenue since the introduction of games sold through the App Store for iPhone and iPod touch.

Dallas – Nate Robinson braved the snow to perform in the NBA All-Star Slam Dunk Contest and go for a record third title.
