After weeks of voting, Major League Gaming (MLG) Pro Players have chosen the best of 2011.  MLG has revealed the winners of the 2011 MLG Pros’ Choice Awards. Pros voted on each other in various categories across three MLG 2011 Pro Circuit titles - Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Halo: Reach to determine the best of the best. The Stride Longest Lasting Player awards went to Naniwa (Starcraft II), Jkap (Call of Duty: Black Ops) and Pistola (Halo: Reach), while the breakout player awards were given to Leenock (Starcraft II), John (Call of Duty: Black Ops) and Formal (Halo: Reach).

ANAHEIM -- After the Costume Contest at BlizzCon, comedian Jay Mohr kept the hits coming with the Intel Dance Contest. 31 competitors took the stage with a lot of interesting (and sometimes embarrasing) interpretations of various dances like the Goblin. LOS ANGELES – Red Bull expanded its second pro gaming LAN by inviting StarCraft II players to its Santa Monica studio, in addition to its Halo: Reach gamers. At the three-day event, the Red Bull Gaming roster consisted of two of its most accomplished and upcoming players including three-time national championship winner, Dave “Walshy” Walsh, Ian “Enable” Wyatt, Clete “Assault” LoRusso, Mike “Flamesword” Chaves, and Aaron “Ace” Elam. Joining the line-up at the Red Bull LAN were Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, Austin “Mikwen” McCleary, Brett “Naded” Leonard, Justin “Pistola” Deese, Jason “Lunchbox” Brown, Justin “Roy” Brown, and Tom “Ogre2” Ryan. LOS ANGELES -- For the first time ever, the top players of Blizzard Entertainment's StarCraft II traveled from around the globe to participate in the Red Bull LAN in Santa Monica, California. Twelve of the world’s best StarCraft II players (four from each of the game’s races – Terran, Protoss, and Zerg) joined in the three-day LAN, playing for 10 hours each day with live TwitchTV commentary provided by Sean “Day9” Plott. Foo Fighters will headline the closing concert of this year’s sold-out BlizzCon, taking place October 21-22 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Blizzard Entertainment is offering World of Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo fans the chance to pick up tickets for the annual BlizzCon gaming convention in two batches on Saturday, May 21 and Wednesday, May 25. In addition, a limited number of tickets to an exclusive pre-BlizzCon dinner to benefit Children's Hospital of Orange County will go on sale Saturday, May 28. BlizzCon is an exception to this rule, designed as a place for Blizzard game fans to meet the developers, pick up new swag, and party together. Blizzard Entertainment made this year’s big game event official. The sixth annual BlizzCon gaming convention will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center on Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22, 2011. BlizzCon is a celebration of the global player communities surrounding Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft, StarCraft, and  Diablo universes. Diablo III, which will launch this year, is expected to be a key focus for the convention.

Blizzard Entertainment announced that tickets for its fifth BlizzCon gaming convention will go on sale in two batches on Wednesday, June 2 and Saturday, June 5, 2010. BlizzCon is a celebration of the global player communities surrounding Blizzard Entertainment’s Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraftgame universes. The event will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California on October 22 and 23. Live coverage of the event will be available as a DIRECTV Pay Per View package and as a multi-channel Internet stream, allowing viewers online to switch between coverage of multiple panels and activities during the show.
