Following its official launch at E3 a few weeks ago, Nintendo's eShop for the Nintendo 3DS has been somewhat of a mixed bag.  While the offering of a free 3-D version of Excitebike was a nice gift, the games that have followed have been both high and low in quality.  Seriously, did we really need Alleyway?

BARCELONA, Spain – At Mobile World Congress 2011, EA Mobile was on hand at the Resaerch in Motion (RIM) booth to show off new games running on the upcoming Blackberry Playbook tablet device. When users turn on their new BlackBerry Playbook tablet for the first time, they had better be prepared for some fun and excitement with two iconic games from Electronic Arts preloaded and available for hours of entertaining gameplay - Need for Speed  Undercover,  the high-octane action game, and Tetris, one of the world’s most popular video games of all time. Both games will be available in HD and feature 3D visuals.

Tetris Online has surpassed 1 million registered users on the official Web-based Tetris game destination in North America, Tetris Friends Online Games (www.tetrisfriends.com). This user milestone was reached just as the new community-based game Tetris Arena launched on Tetris Friends Online Games.

EA Mobile, a division of Electronic Arts, announced five best-selling titles available immediately for Apple’s iPad.  These include SCRABBLE, under license from Hasbro in the U.S. and Canada only, Tetris, Need for Speed SHIFT, Mirror’s Edge, and Command & Conquer Red Alert.

LAS VEGAS – With Apple dominating the portable games space thanks to its App Store and thousands of videogames, Palm used CES 2010 to go virtual. At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Palm showed off 3D games for its Palm webOS platform. Palm has partnered with leading mobile game developers like EA Mobile, Gameloft, Glu Mobile, and Laminar Research to bring the first batch of games to its Palm Pre customers. Demonstrated at Palm's CES event, the games are now available in the Palm App Catalog for Palm Pre customers.
