The biggest PC game of 2009 is now heading to consoles this fall. According to The NPD Group, PC games in the U.S. took a huge hit at retail in 2009. PC games accounted for just $538 million last year, which was down 23 percent from 2008. In contrast, console game sales in 2009 were only down eight percent. One caveat, these sales do not include digital download revenue from services like Steam.com, BigDownLoad.com and IGN.com. The below games were the best of the crop when it comes to sales in the U.S.

LAS VEGAS – With Apple dominating the portable games space thanks to its App Store and thousands of videogames, Palm used CES 2010 to go virtual. At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Palm showed off 3D games for its Palm webOS platform. Palm has partnered with leading mobile game developers like EA Mobile, Gameloft, Glu Mobile, and Laminar Research to bring the first batch of games to its Palm Pre customers. Demonstrated at Palm's CES event, the games are now available in the Palm App Catalog for Palm Pre customers.

Morgan Brown, one of Bang Camaro’s 10 to 20 lead singers, loves his videogames. But he loves his adoring female fans more. The heavy metal band that hails from Boston has a new record, Bang Camaro II, and a new deal with Electronic Arts‘ music label, Artwerk Music, which means even more exposure in videogames. The band’s new song, “Revolution,” is featured in The Sims 3.

While gamers might not be familiar with the band’s name, they’ve definitely heard their music in both Rock Band and Guitar Hero, as well as the PC game Titan Quest. And anyone who’s seen the band perform in a dingy rock club will remember them for both their music and their size. They take up the stage, literally, with 10 to 20 singers for every live show. Brown talks about the past, present and future of rock’s role in videogames, and why he won’t be playing Activision’s DJ Hero, in this exclusive interview.
