Universal Launches Snow White And The Huntsman Conquer The Kingdom Game

In celebration of Snow White and the Huntsman coming to Blu-ray and DVD on Sept. 11, Universal Studios Home Entertainment has launched a free Conquer the Kingdom game (http://www.snowwhitekingdom.com/). The game allows fans to uncover “spell codes” by participating in various Snow White & the Huntsman activities, both online and offline.  Fans submit their “spell codes” to the Mirror (for a chance to win prizes throughout the promotion, accumulating multiple entries for the chance to win the Grand Prize.

CES 2012: UltraViolet Expands with New Movies and Hardware

LAS VEGAS -- The Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem (DECE), a cross-industry consortium dedicated to creating a consumer-friendly open market for digital content distribution, held a press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012) to outline the expansion of UltraViolet. Following the launch of an initial 19 UltraViolet-enabled titles, more than 750,000 households have registered with UltraViolet to create and start using personal digital libraries.

Telltale Games to Ride Marketing of Universal’s Jurassic Park Trilogy Blu-ray Launch

The wait is finally over to experience one of the most anticipated motion-picture trilogies of all time. Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III will make their Blu-ray Disc debut as  a trilogy set on October 25, 2011 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Acclaimed filmmaker Steven Spielberg’s award-winning cinematic franchise, based on the best-selling book by Michael Crichton, generated nearly $2 billion combined at the worldwide box office and featured groundbreaking visual effects that changed the art of movie-making forever. Fans will be able to experience a brand new video game adventure set after the first film with Telltale Games’ Jurassic Park, which will ride the marketing behind these new Blu-rays.

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT -- With Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 heading to Blu-ray and DVD on April 15 from Warner Home Video and the final film heading to theaters this summer, Harry Potter fans can live the magic year-round in the new Universal Orlando Resort’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is the main attraction in this new section of the Islands of Adventure park, where fans explore Hogwarts Academy on foot and then take off in a new ride. Glee Star Josh Sussman Takes on King Kong 3D

LOS ANGELES -- With the Fox hit TV show “Glee” back on the air, one of the show’s stars, Josh Sussman, took on King Kong at the Universal Studios Tour in Los Angeles. Sussman, who also has a hit TV show on MTV, did an exclusive video interview with his “Warren the Ape” co-star on the red carpet. UNIVERSAL CITY -- The third annual 3D Entertainment Summit kicked off a two-day showcase of the latest technologies and innovations in 3D movies, television and videogames with a capacity crowd September 15-16. Over 600 attendees congregated at the Universal Studios Hilton to hear Hollywood luminaries like Jeffrey Katzenberg and M. Night Shyamalan speak about the impact of 3D in filmmaking.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Shadows Gets New EA Game and Updated Blu-rays

Just in time for the release of Warner Bros. Pictures’ Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Electronic Arts' new console games, fans can re-live the earlier films on Blu-ray. New Flipper Technology Coming for Blu-ray Discs

Starting next year, PlayStation 3 owners will be able buy one "flipper" disc with both a Blu-ray Disc and DVD version of the same movie. While it's become standard for many new movies like 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment's Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian to include separate Blu-ray, DVD and a CD with digital copy of the movie in one package, this will be the first time a single disc will be used for both formats.
