Today during Take Two earnings conference call, first week results of Max Payne 3, Rockstar’s newest game were released. According to Take Two Interactive, Max Payne shipped three million units in its first week. No word yet on how many units they actually sold, but it's still great news for both Rockstar games and Take Two. 

I love Dragon’s Lair.  I’ve been an avid fan since I was a kid way back in 1983, and have collected a number of goods over the years, including a lunchbox (yes, really) and a poster autographed by Don Bluth and his team.  And I can play the original game backwards and forwards, and even name all the enemies that appear in it, from the Giddy Goons to the Lizard King.  So, yeah, when I was handed a code to check out Dragon’s Lair on Xbox Live Arcade, I was eager to give it a try and see if it held up as well as other versions of the game, like the ones for Wii (as part of the Dragon’s Lair Trilogy) and PlayStation 3.  But this time…something just doesn’t feel right.

With Ridley Scott’s 3D movie, Prometheus, expected to head home to Blu-ray and DVD this fall, Alien fans will have to wait until February 12, 2013 to experience Aliens: Colonial Marines. As the authentic addition to the Aliens franchise canon, the game’s stunning visuals and adrenaline pumping action will deliver breathtakingly immersive single, cooperative and competitive multi-player modes.

With The Amazing Spider-Man set to hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in a matter of weeks, Activision will be introducing the best of both worlds when it comes to the web slinger’s gaming adventures.  On the one hand, the development team at Beenox is handling the game, and you already know about the work they did on Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time.  On the other, they’re going with the open level design that worked so well in previous Spider-Man games before that.  You can’t lose.

We love it when old-school games get a re-release, for a number of reasons.  The sheer joy that the games themselves bring, the fact that we don’t need to hook up an old-school console (from a dusty closet) and a blown-out cartridge to play them, the fact we don’t need to pay hundreds of dollars for the original game and instead invest just a few bucks to relive them…and the list goes on.  Sega has been well known as a company that loves their classic library, and over the next couple of weeks, they’ll prove it with five upcoming release packs for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

While Disney Interactive Media Group continues to develop new games like Brave and Disney’s Epic Mickey 2, the Walt Disney Imagineers are expanding interactive entertainment at sea. Sonic the Hedgehog has been around for years now, entertaining us with his platforming adventures on the Genesis before moving on to other platforms and, eventually, multi-system success on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.  But the ride hasn’t always been the greatest with him, thanks to lackluster efforts since Sonic Unleashed (seriously…a Werehog) and the iffy next-gen debut of Sonic the Hedgehog, where he fell for a…human girl.  Ick.  Anyway, that said, he did have some great games over the years…so why not count down the best?

I love the Game of Thrones show.  Though I admit I still have to get around to finishing the A Song of Ice and Fire book, I’m just so intrigued by what’s happening between the first season and this current one on HBO.  I can’t get enough of it.  That said, I was a bit excited to see how Atlus’ video game adaptation would turn out, especially with direct involvement from series creator George R.R. Martin.  Well, after playing through it for hours on end, I can see where the appeal would lie for some – mainly in the story – but it’s trudging through the rest that will leave you wondering if this game was worth bothering with.

You may have heard about Microsoft upcoming first person shooter called Halo 4, which is releasing this Fall. We are only three weeks away from E3 and new details have started to emerge. Some are predictable, but the latest multiplayer details will catch your eye.

NEW YORK CITY – ESPN reporter and “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Erin Andrews is in EA Sports new NCAA Football 13 game. Andrews was at the NFL Draft to check out the PlayStation 3 game for the first time, alongside some of the top NFL rookies including Robert Griffin III, Michael Floyd and Trent Richardson. Andrews is a big fan of Richardson, as you’ll see here in this exclusive video interview below.

Taking full advantage of Kinect for Xbox 360, Steel Battalion Heavy Armor is a first-person perspective action game that will put players in the cockpit of futuristic Vertical Tanks (VTs) starting June 19. Set in 2082, the game depicts a world devoid of semiconductors, where war is waged with rudimentary weapons as new superpowers struggle for dominance. In a twist of fate, the U.S. army has been forced to begin major landing operations on what was once its own soil. Playing as pilot Lt. Powers, players control one a VT as he embarks on a mission that will see the action shift from North America to battlefields and war-torn streets across the globe. The multiplayer mode of the game made its debut at Captivate 2012.  Capcom’s Antoine Molant was on hand to discuss this sequel in this exclusive interview.
